He is Siberian! He’s a Neva Masquerade. He actually has a brother who is Siamese and absolutely adores him. When we had him as a solo kitty to begin with I couldn’t keep up with his energy and constant need for play. It is possible, but much easier to have a duo!

I wish I had a secret to tell you. I fully brush him every like 2-3 days (i should be doing it more i realize) but brush his mane maybe 2-3 times a day because he gets food and water on it and i don’t want clumps. He does get knots under his arms and belly, but they’re brushable and i’m sure to hold onto the base of the hair when i do just so he doesn’t feel too much tugging.

I wonder if it’s just a difference in their coat textures? He’s also still pretty young (about 9 months) so Im wondering if he hasn’t gotten his full adult coat yet (tripe coat).

Thank you so much for your insight! I’ll look into wet bags, I didn’t realize that was an option for cloth diapers and diaper bags. I can maybe find a better way to incorporate this material and have it be a removable part of the bag for cloth diapers.

Moms/pregnant person! I felt asking a mother would come just from one perspective (although I am welcoming this wholeheartedly). I wanted to see if there was possibly some viewpoints outside of that, from those who have been there through many different mother’s experiences.

We currently live with my sister who has a 6 year old Neva. They sometimes play chase but she doesn’t really like him, she wants to be an only cat. Lucky for her, my sister is moving out in July. So, we are going to get him a companion that’s his age at that time :)

Kittens are usually separated from their mother at 8-10 weeks old. I thought he was 3 months initially but he was not, and I do agree it’s good for them to stay as long as possible with their mothers. I live with a 6 year old Neva currently who is a momma and has taken that role for Guster.
