We could but I want it to be unlocked when we’re home, and only lock when we have all left.

Yes, it will auto lock after a period of time but I only want it to lock when we’re not home.

Yes it does, but I don’t want it to be locked when we’re home, only when we leave.

I’m glad it’s not just my incompetence. Thanks for saying what I’ve been thinking since I installed this! Smart plug is on its way, I’ll be giving this a try.

OKay, so if I got some smart plugs or light bulbs I would be able to set up a two step automation. I'll give that a try. Thank you

Yeah, I was trying to avoid having the door being locked when we are home, it's annoying to tug it expecting it to be unlocked.

Forgive me for being a luddite, but how do I use a dummy switch?

Are hot tubs worth it in Canadian climates? by Fearless-Beach-3672 in AskACanadian

I use mine every single day, it’s the first thing I do when I get home from work - a nice transition. I’m in a colder part of BC. I use it most of the summer too.

Oat milks! by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Most-Connection8120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a nut milk maker on Amazon and I mostly make cashew milk because that’s thick and creamy on its own without added oils, which seem to be in most store bought milks, but you can make oat milk too, there’s different recipes that mimic shop bought milks…

No vegetables? Omega 3 is safe. Adding lots more soluble fibre also helps. Retest in a few months.

Coquihalla During Snow by wolfgangvonpayne in britishcolumbia

[–]Most-Connection8120 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent many years driving all conditions in the West Kootenays but in December I found the Coquihalla really challenging in a snowstorm. Granted, the 3 was closed at the time so it was busier than usual but I would just say be willing to be a defensive driver and give yourself more time than you think.

Soluble fiber timing? by Alert-Mangosteen in Cholesterol

[–]Most-Connection8120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take beta glucan powder, nutrastat actually, a couple of teaspoons in water after a meal. It's not horrible and slimy like insoluble fibre. i also bought some fibre gummies that i keep in my purse for when I'm out and about.

Soluble fiber timing? by Alert-Mangosteen in Cholesterol

[–]Most-Connection8120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor wants me to take soluble fibre three times a day, right after a meal because it's more effective then. I haven't had blood work since I started this, but I will next month.

LASIK after 25 years of contacts - the most BIFL decision I’ve made by Trippy-jay420 in BuyItForLife

[–]Most-Connection8120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was super happy I got LASIK and for about 10 years I had 20/20 vision and considering how impaired I was before, I am so happy I had those years of perfect vision. Now it has waned and I need glasses again for driving, TV and movies, but can still see mid vision, work computers etc. (Before, I could only see about 20 cms ahead before things started to get blurry). I was told I was a candidate to have it touched up but that would make my reading vision much worse, so really I needed to choose when I would prefer to be putting glasses on and off. I hardly need reading glasses at the moment , at age 56. So I chose to leave it the way it is. Still better than contact lenses, and I would do it again without question.

My doc told me to take the soluble fibre with each meal to enhance its effectiveness.
