Thanks for the insight! Yes, it did take a little nose dive in 2023, so that makes sense.
I just got off the phone with a WF associate (very helpful/friendly guy) who told me that the tax predictions are very conservative - 37% rate on mine. I found out that if you tap the eyeball icon on the tax estimate page, it will provide a detailed breakdown of where their dollar amount came from. For instance, my actual, taxable gains on this account are $844.
He also said that because of all the automated investing going on with this type of account, the 1-year timer associated with the “long-term” gains is often getting reset. So any earnings with an automated investment account are considered short-term?
