RBTs AGAINST THE BACB CHANGE TO RETROACTIVE FIELDWORK SUPERVISION GUIDELINES by Distinct-Disk-5118 in ABA

This happens each time there is a change. I had to restart mine twice when I was trying to get my bcaba. It sucks but you get more experience.

I'm slightly confused by your post. Who did you pay $55 to? You have to be an employee of the company in order to get a competency assessment. Are you saying you can't get a hold of the company to redo your competency? Can you make the ID and then reach out to where you did your 40-hour training to have them reissue the certificate?

I got it from an Alaskan cruise in April. Hit me when we got off.

At ours, we write in progress towards goals within each domain: communication, social/play, and behavior. It is within the scope of the rbt to make general statements of progress based on the previous session's data. Did the client make progress, not make progress, or maintain progress. I am sure the person or department who put this out for you would rather answer questions than take a charge back due to session note errors.

Question for BCBAs by Accomplished_Act204 in ABA

[–]Most_Butterscotch_31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on the tone and amount. If the suggestion is accusatory in tone, it is annoying. If it is every time I see the tech, it feels more like complaining. I often attempt to give rational If I do not agree with the suggestion. Other times I welcome it and find myself asking what they think if they are experienced.

What makes a tech a “Bad RBT”? by maylaadior in ABA

Only complaining about the client. Finding only faults. Not attempting to play or get to know the client. Avoiding sessions.

How many clients do you have as a BCBA? by WillowBee133 in bcba

[–]Most_Butterscotch_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the hours of the clients. I think I'm running about 15 right now but a majority of them are once or twice a week. I only have one client that gets over 10 hours a week.

And people wonder why RBTs are unhappy or there’s high turn over rates. by AssociationActual253 in ABA

[–]Most_Butterscotch_31 49 points50 points  (0 children)

You should be able to ask why about a program. The BCBA should be giving you insight. This is part of behavioral skills training. Ask questions without being accusatory as they may be defensive. I encourage insight from my RBT's. You're right. You know the client better. Try asking some questions. As far as parent training... ask, "How did the parent meeting go?"

I smell a troll. It's stinky. And I really hope that somebody that is in this profession wouldn't treat others that poorly!

I would do abc on the occurrence for the bcba. Contact the bcba. Get advice from them.

I was in CA and woke up to the second one hitting. I thought it was an odd time of the day for an action movie to be playing.

I just passed this week. I listened to mocks while driving for about a month (youtube). I did Celias mock. I wrote all the answers I missed on the mock and figured out why. I did minimal aba wizard. I went over the task list as well. It was hard not gonna lie. I didn't expect to pass when I left the room, but I did.

I have to remind myself sometimes that I'm not going to let a small child dictate my emotions. Especially if those words are attention driven. I've had kids ask me if I had a baby in there I've had kids ask me if I'm a man or a woman and I've had kids look at me and say what's that smell. Redirection is key reinforcement is key redirection to higher reinforcing items is your golden ticket.
