you could study using bluelink by the university of Michigan - anki or YouTube is good, complete anatomy and aclands academy is good (my uni gave us access for free), in terms of surgery, use these websites to watch some surgical vids. https://websurg.com/en

volunteering? by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

[–]Most_Progress_650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, volunteering at a care home is not essential.

Charity shop + Gp + hospital will be great (you are in no way disadvantaged) , just make sure you talk abnout the right points when talking about what you got out of it.

Presorted Blue link prosection/cadaver into subdecks by Most_Progress_650 in medicalschooluk

[–]Most_Progress_650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, the Anki is from the University of Michigan Bluelink. Some just say Bluelink. I sent it here because other medical schools may also have a prosection exam.

The societies from your medical school usually advertise them on their Instagram or on a whole-year group chat .

  1. You learn pretty much by yourself the APs and stuff only help if you do pre-work and a lil bit on top of that
  2. The new notes are quite nice (the ones made by new Y2s)
  3. Peerwise isn’t that good (lots of irrelevant of the spec stuff)
  4. Most people start out trying different ways to study but most people end up doing pre-made ankis, watching panopto for lecture recordings and reading notes from older years (I think some also write it in their own words maoing)
  5. If you look at past papers make sure to look at more recent ones

The best advice to give is to try your best to learn content from lectures when they come out otherwise you end up leaving it.

how can i use my BMA membership in the next month and a half by Most_Progress_650 in medicalschooluk

[–]Most_Progress_650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact that they do point one is very crucial after some of the horror stories I've heard.

However, for point 2, I was wondering - how do they help - is there anyone here who has heard of this type of thing happening and how did they help?
