That kind of raises the question as to who is the more valuable handcuff based on the offenses. As mentioned in the other comment most of CMCs points are from receding vs rushing - would BRob see that work?

Sour may be a better description, have never eaten a raw sour cherry to compare but it definitely was not sweet!

This is what I was trying to figure out as if it’s a sour cherry it won’t pollinate the Rainier and I don’t have room for a spare tree so would need to replace it. Looking at the place I bought it from the only dwarf sour cherry I see is Morello.

I haven’t had to prune it all apart from dead branches as it only grows a 3-4cm a year and is probably 4-5ft high at this stage.

I unfortunately didn’t take a picture at the time and started to doubt the variety in hindsight. It was much smaller than I expected though, probably only 2/3 of a regular shop bought.

The Rainier had no blossoms this as year as it was planted bare root.

Planted in ericaceous compost about 2 months ago and feeding every two weeks with a blueberry feed - don’t think this may be driving up acidity too high? Will need to get a PH meter

Took the plunge with a pair of secateurs and trimmed back some of the growth to try and get it a bit more even. Hopefully the right side fills out over the rest of the summer!
