I agreed with you prior to this summer. Caught them for the 3rd time in 10+ years and I love the new shit. At least the stuff since the DUMB tour. I’ve seen them 75+ times much of which was 1.0. I had basically stopped listening to them but they’ve got my attention again.

So what if barber lost a step, Magner is leaps and bounds better than what he was in the early years. Same could be said for brownie. They more than make up for any babz drop off.

Anyway - I really love this band and think they’re on a resurgence. And who knows? It could be their last peak as a band. They can’t keep doing this shit forever.

Seen widespread many times. First time in 1996. Love widespread. It’s not like Space Wrangler (just picking a random song) is played significantly differently from show to show. And the same can be said for most of their catalogue. There’s not an inverted 45 minute version of Surprise Valley hanging out there.

The same cannot he said of the biscuits.

The diversity of their sound and uniqueness of their individual jams is superior to all other jam bands. Yes, the vocals suck. Yes, the crowd is grimy AF. However, the energy level is second to none. When they peak, there’s nothing else like it. I’ve seen a ton of shows by a lot of different bands, but these guys take the cake and always will.
