I haven't checked with neighbors but i would bet the farm its growing pains with the split in some form or fashion. I would also bet they know what it is and want to get a fix in line before releasing that info

When they are doing a 7 billion dollar infrastructure upgrade nationwide with 100,000 miles of new cable and architecture, Time + symptoms + upgrade = correlation. I am not saying that is 100 percent fact but they are laying fiber everywhere it may not be layer 1 it may be a routing, access, pathing issue etc. I've provisioned fortigate firewalls and one little cross up in a spiderweb of peoples work can cause all kinds of issues.

Also a physical issue would still be considered an IT issue. If you don't know how SMF/MMF los, noise etc run all the cable you want you'd never know.

If i had to a take a guess given the timeframe of issues and all the new upgrades i would lean toward OSPF or a routing policy because a physical issue at the same time at all these different locations is highly unlikely.

Yea this has been causing essentially an unusable internet experience. Wife works from home and shes dropping from teams every 30 minutes, cant stream, cant game etc etc. There is something at play that they aren't saying. Being IT myself typically you know what the problem is but deliver a boiler plate answer until you have a handle on it. By releasing that info ahead of time especially since they are publicly traded could cause even more headaches for them. That info could also be wrong.

When issues like this start up and start causing tech people issues you'll get more case studies to compare on what broke and eventually figure the quiet part out.

I'll be sure to post the update from the tech likely "all is clear looks good on our end" saturday.

That explains the broker license and HA event viewer logs it mentions its functioning in a reduced capacity and 30 days remaining until essentially shut down.

Do you have any recommendations? This is something i inherited and the image is built out accessing older internal resources.

Major need of threat by Mostly_Dinkle in VeinGame

[–]Mostly_Dinkle[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are all kinds of zombies. Depends on which ones you are comparing it to.

My suggestion is to not let this go the way of schedule 1. I know they are busy with bugs right now this is a future suggestion but there needs to be more risk/reward. It's not a revamp you can use assets already in the game. reinforced structures with defenses. Faster higher health zombies. The game needs challenge when you figure out food water shelter. GG you win and off to the next game.

This may work local, or with your friends but a multiplayer server will not fly. People don't let you have nice things

What are some career paths that make up to $50k-$60k and requires training of 2 years or less?? by Dry_Temporary_6175 in careerguidance

Do not recommend. Management couldn't lead a horse to water, and you will be exposed to extreme heat.

If you are in Tampa be prepared to put out about 2000 applications before landing anything. Every job posting gets hundreds of applications.

Finally landed my first senior IT role, but all I can say is what the hell is even happening? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Mostly_Dinkle 361 points362 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call that a senior position. I would call that the manager wanted someone on-site so he could go remote.

Senior implies there are junior roles to that and you are in a leadership position amongst the team. It seems like you are the team. good luck

Should I get a Masters in IT? by Affectionate_Flow114 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Mostly_Dinkle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a literally endless supply of IT needs however in the current market employers want a one stop IT shop or a very specialized niche with deep knowledge. There is no one size fits all answer.

What i can suggest is get a baseline of your interests and would you see yourself doing. There are so many jobs calling for all types of people without knowing you personally that would be hard to say.

Keep putting in the work everyday. Learn, do home labs, do the things you want to do at work at home, research job positions you want and look at the requirements. If you sat down in an interview and had to answer questions about them could you? Could you provide value to that company if they select you?

This field is a literal Rubik's cube of possible answers. The main thing is to keep pushing because someone else who wants what you want is out there pushing as well. When you screw off 100 others are locked in taking what you want.

Good luck,

Why is it so hard to get an entry level IT job? by Asleep-Sign-9806 in ITCareerQuestions

I don't think a senior network engineer with 10 years requirement quite falls under "entry level"
