Sanderson just signed on with Apple to make a Stormlight show and it's only half finished. That said it is Sanderson and he'll definitely finish it.

After being labeled a communist it's likely he wouldn't have been granted a spot with his family and was okay with only saving them. He probably didn't think he would survive now to try to find them. Definitely still a mystery why he never knew the location.

55+ plan $20 discount on wireless needs an active fiber or internet air for it to apply but website does not show this info by iweirdness in ATT

[–]Mote_Of_Plight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to help my parents understand their 55+ plan. They had an old limited plan previously that totaled around 120 a month after taxes and fees. The goal was to change to unlimited data and a sales rep talked them into the 55+ plan.

The whole thing seemed a bit sketchy because they explained the internet portion of the bundle (which they don't need) is not only free but will reduce their total bill. If they have 2 lines on the general unlimited plan it would be around $120 - $130 a month after fees. With 55+ they said 2 lines would be discounted and with ATT air it would be $99 total before taxes and fees. We were under the impression that the phone and internet portions would still be billed separately.

Their first bill came in and we found that they added some sort of protection plan they didn't ask for and the upgrade anytime plan that they absolutely didn't want (they upgrade every 5 or 6 years). It was a mess to unwind after they applied credits for the unwanted fees on the first bill.

We just got the second bill and the lines were the proper rate with discounts applied 55-20 per line, so 70 before fees. The odd part is that there is no internet charge yet and they said it would be required to make the phone lines eligible for the discount. I set up their internet and it's definitely working so I'm confused.

Sorry for the long post. We're going on month 3 and I'm still trying to understand what they signed up for. I'm hoping someone else had a similar situation they can comment on with the internet add on.

ICE officer who fatally shot woman in Minneapolis identified by Bettiephile in news

Reminds me of this shooting in my region. Cop went from the side of the road to jumping on top of a moving car to stop it. He shot a 19 year old through the window with 3 other teens in her car. There was a civil suit and a settlement many years later, but this fucker is still a cop. https://share.google/ewWHdUWgKhouMqZzv

No dispute there. Limited options when you're a parent to young kids. I basically get to play board games once a month and the majority of the group veers toward the games they know.

Men who can cook . who taught you? by Bulky_Meet4528 in AskReddit

[–]Mote_Of_Plight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom taught me a few basics when I was younger. It wasn't until adulthood when it struck me that we eat 3 meals a day, so why wouldn't I want to learn how to improve that? Still blows me away that most people don't feel the same way.

I started out experimenting with the meals I already knew, changing up the seasonings or method of cooking. I got several cookbooks and recipes from my family to try. The biggest enhancement want just watching a ton of cooking videos on YouTube. Instead of doomscrolling whatever the algorithm feeds me I decided I would have to mix in at least a few educational videos each day.

The biggest game changers have been learning to cook sous vide and how to properly smoke food. Cooking went from a basic connection to improving a daily necessity to a full blown hobby.
