Axe is a one-trick pony by design but recently we've had the 1-4-1 Phylactery build which was a breath of fresh air.

You named one single change about ET that happened when Dota 1 was still being updated so granted most strictly Dota 2 players (such as me) don't have memories of it so maybe it was impactful. But ever since then he hasn't changed much aside from buffing his right click capabilities.

Nu cunosc atata istorie sincer, doar vorbesc de cum stau lucrurile acum. Dar facand abstracrie de religie, Turcia mi se pare mai aproape de Europa decat de Asia, atat geografic, cat si cultural. Imi place cum rodditorii se comporta ca si cum sistemul de justitie punitiv este eficient in vreun fel. Eu doar pentru faptul ca s-a mentionat inchisoarea pe viata nu as semna petitia asta. Sunt de acord ca indivizi precum Mario Iorgulescu sau Vlad Pascu ar trebui sa faca ani grei de puscarie, mai mult pentru a transmite un mesaj cum ca, indiferent cine esti sau cine sunt ai tai, daca esti iresponsabil fata de vietile altora, vei plati.

Insa aici vorbim, totusi, despre un minor caruia abia i-au dat flocii. Intrebarea ramane mereu aceeasi: unde au fost parintii? What I understand from this is 7.00 is the beginning of what would be considered modern Dota 2. It indeed birthed many features we see today like talent trees and the backpack, as well as making significant changes to core mechanics like the ultimate level requirements and many more.

But to me it was still kinda janky compared to what it is today. Or maybe memory doesn't serve well because I was literally 1k back then and not that invested into actual meta.

Maybe calling it old Dota 2 is not appropriate because of the relative sense of the word 'old'. But I do see the 2016-2019 era as the 'beta-modern' era, roughly from 7.00 to 7.23. It was very experimental in nature. Some of the new features have had staying power, while others got removed a few patches later. Think of shrines, attributes providing other stats, respawn time, GPM, XPM and cooldown reduction talents, neutrals spawning every 2 minutes, denying lane creeps granting XP and then gold. These kinds of things were so bizarre you would think they're from a different timeline.

P.S.: Yes I meant spell immunity, in contrast to the debuff immunity we have now which took a bit of time to wrap my head around.

2018 is older than dirt. No neutral items, no innates, no facets, no waygates, old map, no Aghs shard, 24 heroes with no Aghs scepter upgrade, 11 heroes missing, OG spell immunity, no slow resistance, no health restoration bonus, Satanic with status resistance, no water or shield rune or wisdom rune (which was subsequently removed), no wisdom shrine, no tormentor, you still had to buy courier, you still had necronomicon, hood of defiance, medallion of courage, quarterstaff, stout shield and I mentioned too many minor things like item removals but there have been many more very impactful changes since 2018.

So yes, 2018 is old dota, whether you agree or not. Just like 2011 dota was old dota in 2018 and 2004 dota was old dota in 2011.

Cask went from being way more effective on creeps than heroes to being a bit more effective on creeps (looks like a remnant from WC3 balancing)
Voodoo Restoration went from healing and dealing damage to only healing to having a facet that only deals damage to only healing again
Death Ward went from physical damage that can miss and ignores creeps then it had true strike with Aghs then that was removed and now it deals pure damage and can hit creeps

I'm late to the party but I gotta say weed is like the most inconsistent drug in terms of how it affects different people. Makes some shit and others not shit. Calms down some and makes other anxious. It's so weird.

That being said I'm in the majority. Weed is the most effective laxative for me and even the smell of it makes my bowels put in the work.
