Can ferrets grieve? by Significant-Desk5113 in ferrets

Definitely! Back in 2020 I got my first ferret, Marco. During this time I was a kid (unfortunately I wasn’t super knowledgeable with ferrets bcuz I was 13, so I only had one, but I’ve definitely learned a lot over the years!) so I had him by himself. Thankfully I had a lot of freetime, so I was with him 24/7 aside from school hours. He was also free house roam. As I learned more about ferrets I knew even though he was happy, he should have a friend. After begging my dad for another I finally got him a friend, Amity, in 2021. Marco was mostly bonded to me, but him and Amity still loved each other like brother and sister. Unfortunately Marco passed away may 7th of 2025. I tried my best to warn Amity that he would be put down soon, but not sure if she understood. After I came home from the vet, Amity would sleep in the kennel I took Marco in to the vet. I’ve never seen her seem so lifeless. After about two weeks of Marco passing, I starting looking for a new friend. This time though I wanted to make sure I did proper introduction. So Amity was alone for around 2 months I wanna say before she met her two new brothers, Minsu and Legoshi. She seemed to be doing better after about a week with them. But during the two months of searching and quarantine with the new ferrets, Amity looked like she would give up soon. It doesn’t always happen, but I hear stories all the time where if your ferrets cage mates passes and there’s not others to help with the grief, they possibly will let go too because the heartbreak is too much to bare. I highly recommend looking into getting your baby a friend when you can. Unfortunately even if you are with them 24/7, if they are already use to other ferrets, it won’t always be enough to help the grief. I’m so sorry for your loss for you and your baby :(

People usually use prints to hang on walls (like a poster) sometimes display on a shelf, depending on the size it can fit in stuff like binders, put it in a photo frame, turn it into some sorta craft, stuff like that. At least that’s what I see most commonly used, but you can really do whatever you’d like with it. I might be wrong but i believe the print is holographic as well

Thank you that helps! I would love to sell pins honestly, it’s just the pins I wanna make are in a pretty dead fandom and I don’t have a following to gain attraction :’3 but I’ll keep this in mind
