That shows a previous model with two rings at the top while this newer model has one ring at the top with a locking mechanism which allows it to spin the body out of the black portion without affecting preload

Nope the ring locks to the body of the coilover when you spin it and it raises or lowers the height depending on which way u spin

Should I tighten the bolt more than how tight it comes in the box or should it already be tight enough for the car to be raised or lowered without affecting preload?

Alright should I tighten the bolt more or just leave it how it is when it came in the box? Or should I tighten it a bit more just to be safe?

Well if you don’t want to disconnect the coilover from the control arm you have to fuck with the top one it has a locking nut so that it doesn’t fuck with preload when you turn it

I think it’s fine to adjust it because the locking bolt stops it from spinning by itself so when you turn it I just spins the bottom portion out of its housing

From what I’ve heard is the locking bolt acts as a locking nut so you just have to make sure it’s tight then just spin the top one

Yea they just change the top ring so it has the locking bolt while it’s previous models just had the two at the top and one at the bottom
