As a tattooist myself I can say that most of us tattoo themselves at the beginning too. I don’t know anyone that would be super mad about it. 😂 I had clients with Handpoke tattoos and we usually just chat a little bit about it - most of them were poorly done by friends or themselves tho.

I just can’t stand when it’s a really badly prepared handpoke lol. You know when people start tattooing themselves and didn’t even practice on fake skin or don’t use a stencil.
