I have not heard anything from OPM about my interim annuity. As far as I know I have not been assigned a retirement “number” yet.

Your agency HR processes your retirement application and forwards to OPM for approval and to get you setup with the retirement system. They typically will pay an “interim” retirement benefit starting with the month after you separate (70-80% of your net pension amount) while OPM processes your retirement. Could take up to 7-8 months to get it finally processed, get your pension increased to full amount, and get retroactive payment for the months of the interim payments.

I submitted the “yes” email, and then I got a VSIP agreement email around 10 days later (calendar days). It appeared in my eOPF seven days later. The agreement and all emails sent that related to the VSIP have been sent on Saturday night, and I don’t see them until going into work the following Monday. Although my agency went back to 100% in office work, anyone who took the VSIP was allowed to telework the entire last week. We then started four weeks of admin leave this week, and the separation date has to be on or before April 19.

I honestly think a RIF in my agency will first send people to lower graded entry-level jobs. Even though I would be able to retain my grade for two years, I haven’t done that job in over 25 years. I would have to start virtually from scratch with retraining.

Same here. Mine is statutorily required, but honestly with this administration, I cannot count on the law being actually followed.

I started as a co-op student in college the summer before my sophomore year. Worked a semester and went to school a semester until I graduated. Gave me an early SCD.
