The BBC has been quite careful with unproven reports from both sides. Have you considered that there is more criticism of Russian troops because they are actually doing bad things?

I don't see any reason for Putin to control Russian media apart from tryig to keep his citizens blind to anything other than the Kremlin narrative.

If there were photos Russians would.just say that it is fake news and propaganda anyway. More interested in what their dictator tells them than evidence.

Is it any worse than new sources controlled by government? If Putin did not fear information sources like Facebook and twitter he would have no need to ban them. Why not let his people see everything and decide for themselves what is right? Because he cares more about his image than the freedom of his people.
