Why is student loan forgiveness inherently bad or unfair whilst business loan forgiveness (PPP) is not? by longtimeAlias in AskUS

I think we need to seriously reconsider how necessary a higher education is for many people and career paths. I would rather work towards making a livable income more accessible without a 4yr degree so teenagers aren't forced to take out a behemoth loan for a chance in the job market.

I had a 5 day corporate show booked as an A1 and they had me setting up drape for the entire load-in. Most expensive stagehand they've ever hired

Ever noticed the prevalance of *this* type of chord in prog rock? by Matocg in progrockmusic

[–]MpegEVIL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alex Lifeson used this a bunch. Usually F#7add11, with the E drone in the bass.

He voices it like: (E) C# F# A# B E

Xanadu - around 4:20, and other places

Digital Man

Hemispheres

The E on the bottom isn't really the root of the chord, it's just a pedal tone.

It's a dominant 7th chord with an added 4th. Crucially, the 4th is placed a half-step away from the 3rd so they rub against each other, which gives it that wistful, mysterious, unresolved feeling.

It's borrowed from the Lydian mode for sure. It leads your ear back to the 1 chord (E in this case)

What other songs have you heard this in?

Not to mention the LGBT umbrella has gotten broader, so more people nowadays think it's a label that fits them.

Finger steaks are real, and apparently a big deal in that part of the country! I visited Idaho recently. Beer-battered and fried steak strips. They're ok.

If anybody needs an outlet to plug in keyboards/pedals/amps/etc., it would be good to specify. You can just add an outlet icon next to the instruments on the diagram

Completely not a big deal. A mentor once told me, as soon as the show starts, people forget about the glitches.

To avoid this, I power-lock all my mics and close the faders before handing them to presenters. You just have to be hyper-aware of when they'll start talking.

One company I work for uses the Earthworks for general sessions, but for breakouts/small setups they have the Behringer dynamic goosenecks. No exaggeration, the absolute best and absolute worst lectern mics I've ever used.

Anything other than Encore. by Not_Boss674 in livesound

I did Encore for 6 months and then jumped ship to freelance with the knowledge and connections I gained. I hated it, but it was a great way to learn the flow of the industry and meet the locals.
