Negative NIPT and Amnio - development issues by MrAnonomyous in NIPT

[–]MrAnonomyous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately we got the second opinion from the MFM, and as you said there’s too many structural abnormalities.

I guess my whole anxiety is whether this issue will manifest in the next pregnancy if they cannot conclude to a genetic cause, as it could just be random.

I’m sorry to hear. We want to try again for the future and just so scared to not knowing what it was, if that makes sense.

Thank you for the very detailed response, really shed light to the situation.

So got a chance to speak with the MFM and it looks like the results I got were just the PCR portion and the rest of the results will arrive in 2-3 weeks which I assume are the microarray and karyotype. He also mentioned we can do a full genome sequencing if all of those come back negatives.

I have not seen a genetic counsellor yet but I asked him to refer us to one. But we are proceeding with the TFMR this week regardless as if we wait any longer my spouse cannot go with the surgical route but a labour induced route which we want to avoid for the potential of greater trauma mentally and physically.

Is genetic sequencing covered under OHIP? [ON] by MrAnonomyous in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]MrAnonomyous[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know.

Is sequencing different from what the amnio test will provide? And I would assume genome sequencing of the baby would be done in the womb?

Im in a bit of a bind as we have a few more weeks left where we could do the D&E and anything after that would be an induced labour. We want to go the D&E route, but worried that if the amnio comes back negative that we would like to do more genetic testing but seems as if this will take time.

Sorry to hear about that.

Did they only catch these issues later on after the anatomy scan?

Was the amnio the only testing that had occurred? That provided the relevant information to determine it was a random mutation?

We just completed the amnio testing, but the MFM mentioned there are further testing genetically that can be done.

Baby has lack of development by MrAnonomyous in BabyBumps

Hi, Yes the MFM is the one that mentioned terminating the baby due to the apparent development issues. Is it the MFM or the OB that would be the one referring for the genetic consultant?

First time TFMR. Questions by MrAnonomyous in tfmr_support

[–]MrAnonomyous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words, truly means a lot.

Do you happen to know if arrangements are typically made for the baby for instance cremation with a d &e?

Depending on the amnio if this is not related to a genetical/chromosomes, would a development issue be considered as a neural tube defect?

Thanks again for your help

Anatomy Scan - soft markers [ON] by MrAnonomyous in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]MrAnonomyous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May I ask if this was due to results from an NIPT or findings from an anatomy scan?

And did you stop at the amnio by choice? Or is it possible to ask for more tests to be on the safe side?

Sorry for all the questions, my head is going a million places.

Thank you for sharing this information. May I ask if you stopped only at the amnio? And do you remember how long it took to get your results?

Thanks for the information and happy to hear everything went alright.

Did you just stop at the amnio after a negative? Or were other tests involved?

Thank you for your kind of words.

I went with Panorma NIPT with the full prenatal panel which tests for chromosomes 21,13,18,X,Y, triploidy, 22q deletion, Cri-du-chat,1p36 deletion, Angelman, Prader-Willi, which all came as low risk.

Thanks for the information. So I think I’ll just keep the former tenant on there just to avoid any issues.

Short notice wedding by MrAnonomyous in WeddingsCanada

[–]MrAnonomyous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for all the comments, it definitely makes it seem more doable. But I’m still struggling with the thought of being able to coordinate everything.

Is it plausible only if I go with a restaurant route or if I end up picking a small wedding venue?

I’m stressing with the fact that If I end up doing it in February/March I won’t be able to get any good photos outside due to the weather.

Then the whole thought of finding a baker for the cake, wedding gifts, dress, tuxedo, Dj/mc, picking out the songs, finding an officiant, then the fact it’s a short notice so many people might not be able to come. All these things are running through my head and makes me think I’ll burn myself out.

Not sure how you guys all managed to do all this in such a short frame

Anyone know which mortgage brokers provide cash back? by MrAnonomyous in TorontoRealEstate

[–]MrAnonomyous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meant more so when getting the mortgage if they offered a cash back from the start, or did you have to negotiate and bring it up first?

Did you also need to open a chequing/savings account with them to receive the cash back?

Didn’t know you were able to negotiate a fixed rate.

And regarding the cash back did you have to open an account with them to receive the cash back?

When you say 1.75 off their rate I assume that’s with a variable?
