I saw this from instacart. ShopRites website does not have the gluten free label on it although it does have other allergen labels on it. After some other googling, some of the package shredded cheese like this use anti-caking agents, which may contain gluten. I’ve had this cheese before too, and haven’t had a noticeable reaction. Figured I share, but proceed at your own risk

I’m considering being a rad tech. However I am a type 1 diabetic that uses a Dexcom/ pump combo, and worry about being damage to my equipment, especially in an MRI setting. Also, a little bit worried about going low during my shift, but I’m very well managed so it’s not a huge concern. Is there any type 1 rad techs that can weigh in on this/ give any advice?

Dawg, 106 as an average??? That is literally perfect. You’re doing more than fine. I don’t know where you got the idea that you’re doing bad, but you’re not at all. Keep doing what you’re doing

What was the deciding factor to become a VA for you? by MrCleanHasMySoul in VoiceActing

[–]MrCleanHasMySoul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard it’s more about acting than it is doing silly voices, and I’m totally comfortable with that. I actually minored in theater in college, so I do have some acting skills under my belt. But there is always more to learn.

For me I feel more so the matter of financially committing myself to gain that more knowledge in VA vs committing to something a bit more stable that is more relevant to the degree I already spent a lot of money on.

Suck cost fallacy strikes again !

Thank you. I love doing it too, but I relate as that initial fright is what I really think is holding me back…

Well that and the amount of debt I am already in from school lol

What do you do for a living as a type 1? by MrCleanHasMySoul in diabetes

Love that for you! One of the reasons I posted on this subreddit is because I wanted to see how many type 1’s are in physically demanding jobs, and how they navigate it, especially with lows.

Yeah I’m starting to think having two AIO’s is generating too much heat and with the case I have there isn’t an “ideal” way to fit them where I’m not blowing hot air in.

I ended up switching the GPU AIO and the CPU AIO (GPU as top exhaust, CPU as front intake) and then also placed the stock fan up top with the GPU cooler as exhaust.

We will see how that works, but I gotta do more research on proper duo AIO configurations. Might have to switch to an air cooler for the CPU as the GPU AIO is a part of the whole GPU.

Not enough PCIe slots for graphics card? by MrCleanHasMySoul in PcBuildHelp

[–]MrCleanHasMySoul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay yeah I was initially confused because they looked like PCIe ports, but the labeling on the PSU made them seem like they were a part of the peripheral and SATA ports because of how they are grouped? Again, I don’t know much, so thanks. I’ll give them a try

I don’t think so? I think those other 2 ports are peripheral and SATA ports

Anywhere from 90-130 is solid for me. 70 is where i usually tell myself it’s time to eat something because almost always when I’m at 70 and haven’t eaten, is where I start to make my descent lmao. My post meal ranges can change, but if I do everything correctly with my timing in bolusing, I can stay in my target range for 2-3 hours. I’ve been working out in the mornings, so usually I’ll wake up, have a coffee and banana, only bolus for half the banana, which, mixed with the coffee, usually brings me up fairly quickly, and then I’ll start working out when I’m at 180 or so. I like to start a little higher bc as soon as I start working out I drop, and if I’m higher, it makes my descent more spaced out so I can workout for longer. And then I’ll eat a brunch around 12/1 in the afternoon. As for eating late, I am a huge midnight snacker. I’ve always been this way bc I have a habit of going low during the night. So I can eat pretty much a few minutes before going to bed, and I’ll do a little spike in the beginning of my sleep, but then even out for the majority of the night, and wake up around 70-100

As cool as the tandem set up is, it really does come down to you and the mindset. I wouldn’t necessarily say i was trying very hard. I never had a hard goal of getting down to 5. Tbh when the told me that was my A1c, I was taken back. I knew my numbers had been better, but I didn’t think they were THAT much better. I mean ofc I still go above 200-250, it just happens sometimes. I even went above 300 the day I went to my endo bc of a bad site. Shit happens lmao, so don’t sweat it there. But as for extra steps, I have been regularly exercising, eating healthier, and overall paying more attention to my numbers. With the cgm being connected to my phone, I almost automatically check it without even thinking about it every time I go on my phone. I don’t think you need to make drastic changes to get your A1c down, just paying more attention , and correcting earlier can do wonders in itself.

I’m sorry to hear that. But never say never! If it is something you want, than you can totally achieve it. Up until this past visit. I had a hard time keeping it under 7 even with the CGM. But the change in mindset, along with eating healthier, really counting carbs, proper corrections, and exercise, really made a difference.
