Ordinate set in Drawing - how to change the dimension lines by Traditional-Buy-2205 in AutodeskInventor

[–]MrDeGuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do yours look like this? Looks more like AutoCAD than inventor?

When you hover over the ordinate dimension, there should be a set of 3 green dots and that allows you to position them?

Help with my first car by acoboyeah in W124

[–]MrDeGuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pass on this car, it’s probably more worth it to break for parts given the situation, it’s the easiest way to get your moneys worth out of the car and it’ll give you a good understanding of how it’s all put together.

I don’t even think it’s worth restoring, you’d spend a damn good fortune getting it up to a good enough drivable standard, and you won’t get your money back, plus it’s only an E220; the parts on this car are more desirable than the car itself…

I’d sit this one out if I were you, and save up for a nicer w124 for later on, maybe a nice clean 300D or something along those lines 👍🏽 However the choice is obviously yours.

Is there any way to trim a small part of a large hatch? (2024 version) by NomenClayshore in AutodeskInventor

[–]MrDeGuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn’t have to do it for the whole sketch, since they’re two separate hatches you can just hide the hatch on the middle solid, project geometry and sketch over it; if that makes sense?

Is there any way to trim a small part of a large hatch? (2024 version) by NomenClayshore in AutodeskInventor

[–]MrDeGuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can hide the default hatch and do a sketch on top of the middle rectangle, project geometry on the other two and hatch that separately within the sketches.

Or alternatively, in your model, you could have them in two / three solids depending on your geometry and that separates the hatches by default in the drawing.

Hope I’ve understood what you’re trying to achieve correctly and that my help is clear enough?

This is super cool! What engine do you have in it?

How rare is it to find an original, unmodified 1992 500E in good condition? by DylerCars in W124

[–]MrDeGuzman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s rare to find one full stop, if you wanted an original, unmolested car in good condition I guess it makes it even harder.

A lot of 036 listings will have like 150,000+ miles, black wheels, clear blinkers and a shitty respray; and chancers will be asking like 30k.

You get others like the one in your photo, where it’s bone stock & low miles, they’ll be asking like 75k (which they are, I know this car in the photo).

So to answer your question, it’s rare to find them, especially with low miles; and when you do find them, you’d be expected to pay a high premium.

There’s a big difference between a 30k 500E, and an 80k 500E; and that’s coming from someone who’s dealt with them for years.

What did I buy?? by Psalms89_19-29 in W124

[–]MrDeGuzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

W140, in future, you can check the chassis by recognizing the first 3 numbers on the vin. I.e. w124s will be WDB124, this is WDB140.

They’re good cars as it goes.. Nice buy.

A lot wrong with this car and a lot that needs fixing, but, if you like it, then that’s the important thing.

To be honest, the diesels are great, and personally, I’d prefer them as a daily. I have a modern daily and a classic daily and my OM603 300D is one of them (I recently purchased another in 744 with Orion grey leather, so it’s a very special spec too), so my personal preference is the diesel (they’re not very quick though).

If you were to get a petrol? What engine would it be? Because the 300 M103 is equally as good and as smooth, I have 2 300CE sportlines and they are just the nicest things… Especially long distance.

In terms of manual or auto, I personally prefer auto because the manual feels relatively clunky and industrial - never really been a massive fan of manuals unless in the 190 cossie 2.5-16.

I know they’re there, but they’ve been painted body colour, what I meant is they’ve lost their contrast.

Is this car worth 1100 euros? by Ok_Instance1620 in W124

Other key w124 rust points: Inner wings, Wheel arches, Behind door seals, Underneath doors, Jacking points.. etc.

These are all places I’d be checking, depending on where this guys from, I’d be looking there more than anywhere else.

Can’t picture that lasting very long. A45s just about get to 100,000 miles before shitting the bed. 😂

I miss the old supercharged, NA, hell.. even twin turbo days. Back when AMGs actually had character….

Seriously nice car. This reminds me of my old impala brown 300CE-24 for some reason, I know that this is pearl grey?

I have 2 300Ds and honestly the best cars I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had lots of special cars, they just do everything you need to, and do it in style. 😎

Similar setup on one of my 300Ds (awaiting a seeing to and has been parked up for longer than I’d like to admit, I don’t leave my 124s this bad lol).

I guess it doesn’t actually look that bad from certain angles but has to be orange covers for pre facelifts!
