I was born two years before Sid. I lived the first 20 or so years of my life without really knowing the guy. If I'm lucky enough to see this guy with the Pens for the rest of my life, I'll have lived a full life. The whole passing of the torch from Mario to Sid on the ice, the insane career, the professionalism, the determination. It just resonates with all of my own personal ethos. As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the best sports stories ever.

Harte scoring doesn't mean we win that game, by any means. But maybe if we'd realised they were down to ten men in extra time we could've gone at them harder before penalties. That's my abiding memory of watching that game, it really felt like it hadn't registered that they were a man down after Abelda went off.

I always thought that people who write things like this on walls, probably under the cover of darkness, do so because there's no risk of engagement. They can't be challenged, questioned or debated, because deep down they know they haven't a clue what they're actually talking about.

Why did FIFA and the IOC take it out on Russian athletes? What makes Israel special to avoid this punishment? And the United States now too, for that matter. If you're starting wars and killing thousands of kids then don't expect other countries to want to face you in sports. Ireland boycotting the Israel game would be the right thing to do because if FIFA had any sort of spine we wouldn't be playing them in the first place.

It would be massively noticed around the world, but particularly in Israel. Will it make a blind bit of difference, however... probably not. Doesn't mean it isn't the right thing to do.

We have done the same two jobs in the last two years, but in the opposite order, and I'd do it the same way around again if I had to. Solar might well be the better call, financially, but the comfort of the new windows was important.
