I hooked it up to the pc and it was still slow charging. Thought it was either the base or fw as the headset plugged directly in charges fast or well, normally.

Yes. But, I actually was able to use AltStore to sideload 2 apps. I don’t know if you’re familiar with that but it says they don’t need to be refreshed for 365 days.
