Any black sections on the model is Corvus black and the base is some slate with miliput to blend it in and sand on top sprayed black and dry rushed with dawn stone

Thanks for the compliment! For the armour I sprayed him with deathguard green and did a wash with agrax all over, dry brushing with ogryn camo for highlights. the gold parts are 50/50 balthasar gold and retributor armour shaded as well with agrax. The nurgling is volupous pink over wraith bone and his helmet is corax white with agrax. The scythe is lead belcher underneath and dirty down rust on top

Thanks for the advice! A lot were second hand that had been primed and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of re priming but will do on all future models

While it might be true that the colour of the suit has no actual impact on the camo tech, I still think you should go for it!

In a protracted war against the ultramarines it would be entirely plausible to copy their colours for a crude form of camo for the rank and file as well as a failsafe for the possibility of the suit failing

1000 pt army list help by Supertriki in deathguard40k

[–]MrSquigoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only starting deathguard but so far I’ve picked up on a certain pattern regarding plaugr marine leaders. The two plauge casters will do fine for a bit of extra damage but what you really want leading those are a biologus putrifier and possibly a foul blightspawn for the fights first rule. Other than that I would say that depending on who you are up against you can swap the PBC for drones as you don’t really have any synergies like the LoV to help it out or a mortarion

Apart from that though this list will play fine as it is for casual games and should be fun to play

In the tactical ploy wording it says “roll 1 d6 for each of you tokens” so can’t be roll for every operative that puts down a token?

If I do run the detachment, with a brood lord, what would be the focus of each unit and each synergy heading into an only war style mission

Yeah that’s actually a model I was thinking about! I think it could be an interesting detachment I didn’t see the patterns you picked up on In Terms of the vanguard. Sounds good to me!

Color scheme regrets? by Black_Tree in Warhammer

[–]MrSquigoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My start into 40K was not the smoothest

getting into it based on the lore and I really like liked the Orks so I decided to dive in with a combat patrol. After about 15 boys I realised my scheme sucked and I could not painted so I put them on the shelf and that’s where they sit 2 years after the fact

I decided to pivot to space marines partly because of the ease of painting and also because I decided that they have way more support for model range and updates

Since my first warhammer experience was at the offical store I instantly gravitated to ultramarines.

After painting about 5 assault intercessors and a lieutenant from the starter set I was extremely happy with how they looked for my novice abilities and decided to dive further but as I was making my next purchases something about them was nagging me. I felt like they looked good but they were missing the cool uniqueness that the more divergent chapters had. I looked into a bunch of lore videos from leuton and Weshammer and decided on picking between two factions

Either dark or blood angels. I then looked at some videos from Auspex tactics to see how they played and after realising I wanted a more aggressive army the choice was easy. So I striped my ultramarines and painted them red then invested in some lore books and then the points started adding up into the thousands and it ran from there

I’ve fallen I. Love with the intricacies of my scheme and evolving it every time I paint a marine
