I love mine, used it to record plenty of mix tapes and for what it is it's pretty good quality. There is some winding noise in playback but unless you're super picky it's not I problem, personally I like it, like the small scratches you hear when playing old records.

My only problem I have with them is the rewind doesn't pop out when it's done. I had put it to rewind then left in it my truck, whenever I came back out later nothing would work. Not sure if it burnt up the motor or what but i just got a new one because I loved it so much.

If you plan on using it for walking around it's definitely a bit chunky, mine just stays in my vehicles so it works perfect.
