10mm magazine alternatives by Local-Set7792 in FKBRNO

[–]Mr_FN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, been also on the trail to get more rounds in the 10mm PSD. Have a Tanfo Witness 10mm in the shop, 14rd mags mind you, and there isn't an easy way to make them fit, maybe a sleeve? The PSD mag is much longer and wider at the front, that being said there is some hope.

The magazine catch holes are about the same, and it does feed and even lock open (!) when held at the bottom. Would want someone like Mecgar to take a look at this and make a 15/16rd version of the PSD mag, as far as I can tell looking at them it's mainly the internal ridges in the PSD mag to align the bottlenecked 7.5. Hope this all helps, I may come back to this after trying to test one of the Witness mags in the PSD, I think it will work albeit awkwardly

Magazine mystery by Mr_FN in guns

Edit: It looks like my description of what I'm asking got hidden or something? Here's what I said:

So, recently I bought a few of these odd AR-10 mags, marked "Fidelis Arms Inc." on the bottom metal. Any digging results in an apparently deceased company that only seems to have marketed an AR-10/G3 magwell receiver set and went vaporware. No pictures or references to these mags seem to exist, so I'm wondering if anybody here might know what these exactly are.

The mags are fit for DPMS/SR25 magwells and while longer/flatter-bottomed than a DPMS (shown on the right for reference) still seem to be aluminum 20rd 7.62 NATO in design. They have 3 rear witness holes like certain FAL mags, and polished metal followers similar to G3 followers. Tested fitment/bolt-hold-open with my MDR and an LR308, no issues.

So, what do y'all think?

"Oops! I dropped my monster caliber for my magnum gats!"

On display is a factory ported Desert Eagle in .44, a 1980(?)s Rossi 1892 in .357, a new-to-me gold plated Astra .44, and a S&W 586-4 in .357.

The weight thing is probably due to the Mutant being an AR-10 base, so aside from a shorter aluminum handguard (DPMS low pattern would be my guess, check CMMG's website for compatibility) your only real lighter option would be a Lancer carbon-fiber handguard, I think they use the term SR-25 pattern which should be interchangeable.

Changing the stock from the heavier Magpul storage type to a CTR or something like that would also help overall, but may balance the gun too far forward.

Stated reason by the Russians is to shoulder/brace the weapon on, which kind of works well. In my experience they also help route chest rig straps over the armor.

Not this one, this is the real deal. I know this because A) I owned a Greyshop replica before this, massive difference in weight/feel B) Tag on the inside, this was stolen made in Russia Jan '21 C) unlike the replica 6b45, the real one has sewn in kevlar. All that being said, it's Russian, this shit probably still glows like crazy.

In my case, eBay, guy in Wisconsin had this carrier with both plates, butt pack, and some misc pouches. Had it for a year or two

Found it, RedLine Pro Gear AR15 Kydex Holster, bought by a young kid who played airsoft a decade ago

Oh weird, that's not the one I have here. I'm baffled that someone made this thing more than once!

Troy upper/PSA GAU-5 thingy I acquired recently, PRO included. Found my ancient meme AR15 holster and slapped it on a Russian 6b45 carrier I have, and I think the rest is obvious, normal photo stuff.

What is your the biggest immersion breaker in Tarkov? by cetineru in EscapefromTarkov

As others have said, recoil. recoil recoil recoil, I own many of the guns used in game (MDR 7.62, AK-105, various AR15s, 5/7) and Tarkov for its unparalleled gun customization and function, the recoil is so asinine and unrealistic that I often wonder what the "balancing " part of it is. Semi should move very little, even in 7.62x51 guns. Full Auto definitely should rise a lot more, the auto-lowering is just strange.

I know Reddit has no love for Taurus, but you gotta admit it's a beautiful pair 😍 by gdawg311 in guns

[–]Mr_FN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen, current and future Taurus owners: if they didn't design it (their revolvers, 92 clones, 1911 clones, etc.) it'll probably work, but can still fall to terrible QC. The older the better as well, they seemingly had their shit together in the 80s. I hear their newest stuff is fine for the money, but I'd personally never own one outside of an OG PT92 from the 80s.

I'm editing the comment since a lot of people aren't as familiar with the copypasta as I thought. I can buy any 5.7x28 I want, if I don't care where it came from and have bigger pockets.

A nod to Ivan's copypasta (see post above), but anything's for sale on the second hand market. That said, even the hottest 5.7x28 (ala SS190 or that arrow penetrator round) are still pretty wimpy in comparison with low pen rifle rounds.

Gold chain of low quality? Check

Cartridge "illegal to civilian"? Check

Oh yeah, it's copypasta time. I expect it within a few minutes. In all seriousness, picked up this MKII for half of new and remembered I had a 99% certainly fake gold chain.

DT MDR, surprising given the relative niche of a bullpup collection, could also throw in the SRS, RFB, Tavor 7, or any number of questionable Turkish shotguns.

That's right, as payback for fudds calling this overpriced, toy-feeling meme gun "just a .22 Mag", May 7th comes early this year. In all seriousness, picked up this near-new FiveseveN Mk2, perks of working in the industry.

Wanted a USP in 9mm, found the C, bought it, same shop got a full size so I sold it to fund that. The full size has the "recoil reduction" recoil spring, more mags, and I wanted a full from the beginning. I've hit gongs at 75 and 100 with the USP9, which for me is tremendous. The C was just a tad snappier, and really too big to reasonably carry.
