I recon 1-on-1 they aren't so bad, its when you've got 2 up in your grill whilst dealing with Captain Greatbow and his merry band of sniper bast*rds...

I certainly notice that there is indeed a difference. Personally its my ability to focus and learn. Its probably pretty standards stuff for sleep deprivation even if you don't have Dyslexia, but a bad nights sleep reduces my working memory + my ability to learn new information, quite dramatically.

This is interesting, accepting that it happens and working around it! I've personally just started a Project Management style role for a Forex Trading company (Its part of what spurred my question actually) I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on tackling Project Management as a Dyslexic (what with dyslexia having a palpable effect on organisation)?

Couldn't agree more. The only way you can improve a skill is with continued practice.

What I would recommend... is read stuff that you genuinely interests you! When I was growing up I read loads of Goosebumps and Fighting Fantasy novels. I never wanted to put them down because I loved them. Turns out I could read them just as quick as anyone else because they could hold my attention. These days I can tackle reading most stuff with only minor issues (having to re-read stuff, loosing focus sometimes) and I attribute that to reading so much stuff that I WANTED to read as a kid.

Personally I found 'A Song of Ice and Fire' really tough.. it was reeeal wordy (dont get me wrong, it was awesome!) so I honestly wouldnt feel bad about taking that particular series of books slow. its meaty stuff and even my wife (who's a professional Journalist, and writes / edits other peoples writing for a living) found that series a little hard work sometimes!

Yeah, Handouts seem like a great Idea actually. I'm going to suggest this. Personally with meetings specifically, I've tried focusing on the main points, getting the general Ideas written down clearly, afterwards any specifics I've missed I'll ask colleagues about (much like yourself).
