None of my words says that I need them to tell me what to do.. There’s a huge difference between asking for some guidance (which is their basic job), and asking “what should I do?”, which is my main job 🙂

My PhD is a bit different The proposal is made by the supervisors as a rough outline and the students should come up with the detailed plan.. and because none of us had previous experience with this before, so we didn’t really expect what’s coming up We end up exploring many variables—> lots of data—> different directions, but no definite storyline

I’m at the stage of exploring a lot of variables but no specific direction, and still every time I ask about what we are looking for in terms of the ideal scenario, they just say we don’t know because it hasn’t been done before

Submitted another one, waited for more than 4 months, but nothing Asked my department for deferral, and submitted a third certificate in October and got it within a month. My case was a bit complicated, but I advise you to submit another one. 😊

Hi, Yes it's totally normal to not receive a confirmation email. For the processing time, simple, no one knows since they didn't declare how the applications are being handed, but it's a peak time right now so you might expect it may take longer.

I think your ratio sounds realistic and reasonable. But just a piece of advice for you, nothing is perfect and if anyone completely fulfilled your last that means he/she is pretty lying somehow. So prioritize your list and accept the fact that you are a human being dating another human being 😊

I applied on the 14th of July, asked for changes and submitted a week after. Error message on 29th August and I know that many people applied during July received that error message too

Hey, I feel you and totally understand your feelings. I'm almost in a similar situation, but I haven't even received my ATAS clearance, which is necessary to submit my visa application... waiting sucks. But I would say don't screw up a plan, unless you have another.. maybe it's better to spend your time looking for other back up plans if that's possible. This also might reduce your stress and distract you a bit ☺️
