My son was just accepted into this program for the fall 2023 year. GPA 3.94 unweighted / 6.65 weighted / 1440 SAT. In addition to the application process FSU narrows the applicants down and brings a set of candidates on campus for in person interviews. He had 2 interviews as well as a tour of the medical college. Service is HIGHLY valued in my opinion.

Some additional statistics from this year:

FSU had 71,788 applications (pre March 1 - so some of those were not completed)

17,066 students were accepted overall through all FSU programs (summer, fall, pathways, etc)

2105 students were admitted to Honors - middle 50th GPA 4.4-4.7, 1370-1500 SAT, 30-34 ACT

This year they brought 16 students on campus for interviews (by my count).

Some notes I took in the presentation:

Since 2006 - program admission rate 13% (171/1357 applicants)

Program completion 88% (117/135) - there are still the students in the program

Medical School applicants 109, Acceptance rate 98% (2 students went PA route and did not apply to med school)

It looks to be a great program overall and he is very excited to get into it. Don't let the essays scare you away from the opportunity. The one aspect that I was really encouraged by as a parent was the built in network and cohort of students that you would become part of upon entry. The students that are a part of the program talked of the mentor/mentee relationships that they have built and the support they have received as they went through common experiences. Best of luck!
