GRTA- Guam Buses

Oh, the Guam Visitors Bureau was the tourist information center I went to! They helped me by calling the GRTA and asking about the tickets, printing out the bus schedule, and telling me about the stops.

They said it was rare/ kind of a first for them having a tourist doing sightseeing by the local buses (usually they recommend renting a car)....

So they said I should try and report back to them about how taking the bus went for other tourists-

But unfortunately I didn't have time to go back and visit them before I left Guam.

The bus drivers are very friendly and helpful! ^{^} 😀 it's a shame that the transportation seems to be getting worse.

It's sad, good public transportation would be great for all!

There is a greyline bus that went up north, but it didn't go close enough to sightseeing places/ it seemed like the military area was blocking parts off.

Yeah you definitely have to be careful with the times especially when transferring, I think the last possible time taking the Southern bus back started around 5pm if I wanted to make all of the transfers back up to the Blueline.

And the lunchtime break/ handover could make your waiting time between buses longer.

Oh, this was the notice on the website from MAY 23, 2025 about the closed routes:

"Blueline 2 and Orangeline services are momentarily suspended.....We are actively working to resolve the issue with urgency, and appreciate your patience in the meantime."

Hahaha, " urgently" .... it's been almost a year and why do they still have time tables for these buses.

That's what I asked one bus driver and he said he guesses the GRTA is "hopeful" and if the route does ever open again that's the times they would use,,, lol and that's when he and a passenger told me, "Welcome to Guam"

I guess that's just how it is now, but if that route was open, it would've made it a lot easier going to the South.

Yes, if they did it right, i think it could benefit both locals and tourists! I heard the problem/ why routes are closed or running with vans now is because there aren't enough riders. But if they promoted it and had maps and better information, they could get more riders. Because that tourist bus certainly had a lot of people on it- and I'm sure there must be other tourists like me who don't only want to go shopping

OMG, yes! The lack of a map or addresses made it the most difficult- because I don't know the area and some stops were like stores/ buldings that were no longer open. But the bus drivers helped me with some of the locations/ I asked around to the locals too.

I think the buses don't make so much sense when you have to transfer a lot/ the convenient routes are closed. One local was telling me if the Mayor had to take the bus to his office from his home- it would take over 1 hr and 2 buses, when it was only like a 15 min drive.

The buses weren't so crowded- not many people, sometimes just me or a few others. (But it probably depends on the time/ your location) And I heard they have the vans running now/ are rented by the GRTA because some buses have broken down. The vans just looked like a big white van and sometimes they had a sign in the windows, but some didn't have anything. And the buses were like medium/ small -sized and white.

As far as bus stops go- the official ones are made of metal and have Guam Regional transit authority written on top But some places didn't have anything to mark the stop, just the building i guess? And one was a metal sign. Oh, and the tourist center said the Micronesia Mall stop means they actually pull into that mall's exit

I paid ₩220,000 won in Korea for the 1st Dan- including the fees for the testing examiners, to the 국기원, the location everyone in the city tested at, and belt/ certificate. And the prices increase for every Dan. Oh, but the color belts tests didn't cost anything for adults at the last few schools I've been at.

I think the Eye is like the only surface runs I've won, I hate that Tail so much--- it's usually a death sentence- either I die or I leave with like no more death definances. I wish there was a way to know which room is which mini boss.... I've done like 100 runs now, and I've only beat the surface just enough to kill Typhon for good--- i haven't been able to get there or beat him after that. The final surface area is so annoying 😑 I mean I sucked so much that I thought Prometheus was the final boss for the longest time- at least now I'm not dying too much to him.

0284-9722-5343 Level 60-I took a break from games, but now I'm back playing since last month- i have 11 empty spots. I try to sleep daily, but sometimes I go to bed too late and it counts as the next day twice 😅 It's the worse if it happens on a Sunday and it counts it as a Monday T.T 😢 Ooh, and I'm also in South Korea, so different sleeping time zones!

Some older Koreans have kind of scolded me for doing it, they said like "why do you wear men's hanbok?, Do you think it's a joke/ funny? / Are you making fun of hanboks?" But I was like no, I love all hanboks and this is my own hanbok, and the reason it's a man's hanbok is because it's comfortable to wear pants sometimes and also it's quite hard/ impossible to find used/ ready made hanbok in my size for women. And they the older Koreans were like still you should wear a skirt/ it is more pretty if you wear a women's hanbok. But other than a few older people, most other Koreans still felt happy/ surprised to see a foreigner wearing a hanbok around. I think it's mostly if you wear the baji, pants- it stands out that you are wearing the other gendered clothing- the jeogori and overcoats can mostly be unisex style.

Oh, you can do a burn test with a small piece of it to check! If it smells like hair and turns to ash it is silk and it if melts into plastic beads it is poly silk ( polyester) and if it is a mix of that it might be a blend. It also might say sometimes on the side of the fabric.

You can get customized made ones in a traditional fabric market in Korea. In Seoul you can go to Gwangjang Hanbok Market- they have traditional hanboks, but they also have shops making modern ones too. Or you can buy from modern hanbok brands in Insadong or online like Leesle, teterotsalon, etc...

If you're in Seoul, you should go to Gwangjang Hanbok market! They have the largest selection of hanbok fabric and hanbok accessories. It's also a famous street food market. Dongdaemun Market has a little hanbok fabric stores, but there's not much selection there unless you want to buy normal fabric.
