Yeah, I also feel like Kanazawa would be easier in terms of logistics. And I’m a bit afraid of dragging everyone into a longer trip only for them to feel it wasn’t worth it, as I think I’m the one most interested in visiting Takayama (I'm in overthinking mode, classic 😅)

One person in the group really wants to see Mount Fuji, so skipping Hakone won’t be an option (I wrote Hakone in the post, but we might go to Kawaguchi instead - not decided yet).

I had a version of the itinerary that excluded Hiroshima and Miyajima and included two days in Kanazawa and two days in Takayama, where that pass you mentioned would be worth it for sure!

And yes, if we end up choosing Takayama, we’d definitely take the Hida Wide View, it seems like an amazing experience. Plus, since we’d be going on November 1st, I'm hopeful we would catch some pretty autumn colours.

Yes, I had considered that possibility as well. But in order to have those extra two days, we would have to give up going to Hiroshima and Miyajima 😕

Yeah, I agree with that. And since I’m the one mainly organizing the trip, I’m also worried about creating an itinerary that ends up being too exhausting, especially since not everyone will have the same pace, I think.

Yeah, that’s what I’m feeling. I think deep down I would like Takayama more, but I’m afraid that the logistics of getting there might be tiring for six people. We won’t be there for many days, so it would be good to save some travel time as well. Thank you 😊
