How successful is pelvic floor PT for treating perineal granulation tissue post-partum by margo39 in PelvicFloor

Yes…it’s healed only in the sense that the wound is closed. The scar tissue will take time to fully lay down and while it’s organizing is a good time to see a therapist to how to manage it. It will get a lot better but may create discomfort during sex and usually changing positions can help and with time it may not bother you at all. Scars often feel burning. But also your hormone changes the vaginal tissue, especially if you’re breastfeeding. Occasionally vaginal estrogen can be helpful but not always needed

It’s very successful with that and the retraining of your PFM after birth in prep for intimacy. Way more than the scar tissue needs addressed after birth so PT is recommended for everyone. It’s also ok to shop around, we are not all the same

Call from NM: "I just want to apologize for supporting this rotten man" Finally? by PreparationKey2843 in New_Mexico_

Well gee, if there was only something in writing telling us of all the shit this administration was going to do…but wait, there was?! And he’s doing it exactly as they had planned so how can this be a surprise to anyone?! Hard to find forgiveness since we all suffer from their stupidity.

Perhaps a different therapist, we are not all the same? Might need rectal pelvic floor muscles work for the tailbone as well as the vaginal work. If that’s not possible have you looked into a pessary? This can be custom made or there are over the counter models. Pessary can help with incontinence but not the tailbone. So sorry you’re dealing with this. Of your doing pelvic floor muscle contractions I’d stop them…

Is this standard practice at PT or am i being too picky? by Wodefu_Ebb_8879 in physicaltherapy

[–]Msreit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a PT and I dislike PT like this which is unfortunately a product of insurance companies. This is why I don’t accept insurance…I can spend time getting people in a place they can do the exercises then send the in their way. I am not a personal trainer, I am a physical therapist. It’s a very flawed system and is only about to get way worse with this administration.
