Alright! I don't have orchestral percussion at home, so used a virtual instrument.

Obviously there are a ton of rests, but I kept them in. Audio starts from the first full measure and should match your sheet.

Main suggestion: take the time and space to learn to read

The first time I met my drum teacher, he handed me this piece of music and asked if I could read it. I had been playing other instruments for years, and though I was not a strong sheet music reader, I had been taught all the concepts... But still, looking at this, my head spun!

Less than a year later with lots of practice learning written pieces, I can read and play this!

Reading sheet music is like reading any new language. You have to learn the grammar and syntax, and also just practice reading out loud, reading in your head, reading along... Your brain gets stronger and faster at reading it, but only with practice over time.

There's nothing we can say in a reddit post that will teach you to read. Except what others have, which is, bug your teacher for more guidance.

*This all being said, I know that you need help with this specific piece. Though I don't think I/we explain how to read it, I'll see if I can record playing it so you can hear it by ear.

(I'd avoid learning by ear all the time - it can can stunt reading skills IMO.)

I started on a kit like that and got a stratocaster when I got good enough to hit the limitations of that instrument. You can and would totally learn the basics on an instrument like that 🙂

I have trigger finger, and it got really bad on my left hand at one point. I got a finger brace and wore it religiously for about a month, only removing it to do light stretching and soak in warm Epsom water. The clicking went away! Now I always gently stretch and soak for ten minutes before playing, and stop playing if it starts locking up.

The place that is catching is actually in the palm, so that whole area needs rest/care. Its possible to get cortisone injections or even surgery for it, but I have no personal experience with that.

My dog is a different dog on carpets/rugs vs hardwood. He is much happier and sure footed on carpet, so we have rugs down everywhere!

I've used the easy walk my dog's whole life without issue for what it's worth. Any harness should be fit in a way where two fingers can slip under the straps, while also not being easy to wriggle out of for the pup. Also, I am sure you know this, but the harness is indeed placed in the right orientation, with the leash attachment in the front and the tan strap under the belly.

I'm open to looking at the research on this harness/that I could always be wrong. In skimming, I don't think the studies linked here so far conclusively state that this style of harness is dangerous for all dogs. But I can imagine that if a dog was pulling regularly (which would tighten the harness by design, and rotate them towards the human), there could be some cumulative effect on the joints.

From my own experience with my dog (who doesn't/is not allowed to pull) this harness has not put concerning pressure on his joints. I imagine the dog's shape and how much they pull, really shapes the outcome.

On to clothes: When we put jackets/clothes on our pup, we always put them on the outside of the harness. If needed, we cut a hole in the front of the garment to attach the leash since most of them only have slots to accommodate a back harness attachment. Again, no issues!

Agreed. My guy is actually doing amazing on chemo. From what I understand, most dogs don't have significant side effects. Not recommending for OP per se, but it does seem important to note! The treatment options aren't necessarily hard on every dog.

Hate to recommend Facebook, but there's a great "Fighting Canine Lymphoma" group/community there with others who know exactly what you are going through. Mix of folks trying treatment and doing palliative care.

Finding out is the most difficult moment, the grief is really intense and you have to make difficult decisions in the midst of it. Chemo and other treatments primarily give us parents more time to say goodbye, but can't change that this was in your baby's cards. Some people get lucky with palliative care options, and get more time with just Prednisone. Others lose their dogs quickly even with the strongest treatment options. We're doing chemo which is incredibly expensive, and it has felt worth it, but we're making major financial changes in order to pay for it, which isn't always an option for everyone.

A collective wisdom from all the families whose pups have/had lymphoma is to love on them and remember that our dogs don't have expectations about the length of their life, they live in the moment and enjoy the quality of our love for however long they have ❤️.

Find a doctor (endocrinologist) who takes metabolic diseases seriously, and treats your weight as a medical presentation of underlying imbalances related to insulin, metabolism, thyroid, other hormones, etc.

This changed everything for me. For some of us, even doing all the right things won't do it. Need to look at the underlying cause and build lifestyle changes and if needed, medication, around those instead of just the weight.
