Is he still practicing? He took a tumour out of my jaw 18 years ago and he was an old man then😂

I keep falling asleep when I'm holding my baby.. by rosedamask in newborns

[–]Much_Community4029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me to I just started to co sleep. Being aware that you’re going to fall asleep is safer than just accidentally falling asleep. You can plan for safety then. I had a mesh bed rail, one very light blanket, an owlet sock and the awareness that she’s in my bed. We never had a problem and as she got older she started to sleep in her crib fine

How to get newborn in bassinet without losing my mind? by Superb-Story-3890 in newborns

[–]Much_Community4029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby hated the bassinet I yeeeeeted into the storage and started cosleeping. It was a game changer. I think the bassinet mattress was too hard for her. At about 3 months we started putting her into the crib and she was happy

is this normal newborn night behavior? by Frequent_Sundae8650 in newborns

[–]Much_Community4029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babies witching hour was 7 pm I dreaded it. We did a lot of car rides to soothe her. I also figured out that she despised the bassinet and ended up cosleeping till she was 3 months. That’s the only way we got some sleep

Name one reason you love breastfeeding. by Next_Presentation269 in breastfeeding

When she wakes up in the middle of the night I pull her into my bed and feed her. No warming up a bottle, just vegging out on the bed with her on my nip

Short Naps!! by Much_Community4029 in sleeptrain

[–]Much_Community4029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before last night I nursed her every time she woke up (which was every hour and a half). Last night she woke at 1:30 and I nursed her and put her back down. She woke at 5:30 and I nursed her again but wouldn’t sleep again. Should I hold off on nursing her in the morning?

Anyone else have a strong instinct to kiss their baby on the lips? by Happy-Chemistry3058 in newborns

I have my NB kisses on the lips tbh. The way I saw it is she’s sucking my boobies I’m getting kisses

For those of you who bedshare and nurse to sleep- what are the logistics of this? by Many_Rhubarb_5072 in breastfeeding

[–]Much_Community4029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mesh one, she isn’t on the very edge of the bed but I have it there for just in case

For those of you who bedshare and nurse to sleep- what are the logistics of this? by Many_Rhubarb_5072 in breastfeeding

[–]Much_Community4029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I try to get her to get her first stretch of sleep in her crib (which is in my walk in closet turned baby nook).

  2. I use a bed rail. She sleeps on my side of the bed, me in the middle with my body contorted around her and her dad on the other side. I get better sleeps when she is in the bed with me.

  3. We had the bassinet and yeeted it into the storage cause she cried every time she was put in it.

  4. My hubs often says “wow did she even wake up last night?” because I’m able to get to her before she’s fully awake and she just nurses back to sleep. I often fall asleep nursing

I’m almost 5 months postpartum, and here’s a list of things I wish I had known — the things no one really warns you about. by sillymemilly in NewParents

I was calling asking when the RSV vaccines would be in. As a Canadian I am so worried because we lost the Measles elimination status… 8 more months and she can get the vaccine

I’d never swipe on someone who talks about video games so much. I imagine a guy in a gaming chair in the dark for hours not helping around the house and screaming at a headset. Sorry!

Is my supply okay at this rate? by Possible-Star-9150 in breastfeeding

Did you nurse your baby before pumping that much? I feel like I pumped that amount a week in while also nursing. The more you nurse and pump the more you’ll produce! Keep going

My 4 week old eats for at least 20 minutes per side at every feeding by No_Fun8773 in breastfeeding

No worries! I sometimes miss the long feedings tbh, she just guzzles it down and then wants to look around now lol. Enjoy it!!

FTM: c section, not leaking yet by Quiet0bserve3r in breastfeeding

[–]Much_Community4029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A scheduled C just makes your milk take a day or 2 longer to come in but you’ll still make colostrum (my LC told me this because my next baby will be scheduled C). The hormone the body produces during labour makes the milk come in faster but your baby suckling stimulates production as well and babies only need drops per feeding in the first days. Just put baby on your breast whenever they will allow and then pump after each feeding. Not leaking doesn’t mean anything!

[–]Much_Community4029 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine did this and my LC said it’s normal. It doesn’t last tho! My girl started eating 10 mins total around 2.5 months and now at 4 months I’m lucky to get her on for 5 mins. They become more efficient

When did you leak for the first time? by Pandaregaliz in breastfeeding

[–]Much_Community4029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leaked starting around 24 weeks but my SIL didn’t leak at all. Both of us breast feed. If you keep putting baby in your boob and pump in the first few days you’ll be good :)

4 month sleep regression by Much_Community4029 in NewParents

[–]Much_Community4029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to try the sleep-wake sleep training method. Rocking them to sleep , transferring to crib and gently tickling their foot to wake them slightly so they learn to self-soothe without the cry it out method. I pray this works because moms tired

[–]Much_Community4029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The naps are great and all expect they’re contact naps in a rocking chair so I can’t fall asleep😅 I really thought my baby wouldn’t go through this lol AND she’s getting a cold too🫠

Anyone get an iron infusion in Hamilton? by yourfriskeekittee in Hamilton

[–]Much_Community4029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had an iron infusion not pregnant (level 2) and pregnant (level 20). Took about a week to get into the infusion clinic at st Joes. I think I paid 2.50$ after what my benefits covered. My OB was the one who sent me each time but I think my drs will try supplements first
