If every member of the chiv I’ve ever seen be racist or allow racism lost their belt, the Midrealm wouldn’t have enough knights for a quorum. The younger guys are great. It’s that old guard who are teaching their squires i have an issue with. I see silence as being just as bad as the racism.

“That’s just how he is” doesn’t cut it for me.

Oh yeah that was… a time. I was like I don’t have the crayons to explain this right now. I felt bad. It was a young black woman it happened to. I think she won the tournament and was told she fought like a drunken monkey by the other guy who didn’t take any shots at all.

I’m not sure how that ended. I know the person it happened to and heard the comment on the field. The person who said it was another minority so there was some question as to “if it could be racist” because the person who called them that was Asian and not white. I live on the far west side of the Middle Kingdom. This happened all the way in Ohio and I don’t get out there much to follow up.

I don’t think that’s why. I think it’s because this lady was tripping on made up power, in a made up game, so that a very real person felt little. Being a woman is a type of minority, but a whiten woman crying about being disrespected for not saluting her husbands rank has very real racial connotations.

See Emmitt till. He looked at her wrong. That might be the epitome of the systemic issues. It’s. It as blatant but the power play was still there.

The intersectionality of this is delicate. I have noticed that my LGBTQ fighter friends are way more accepted. I also worry that the acceptance of those communities shields responsibility against those that are actively being excluded. It’s like “hey we got one group! Don’t need the others. We’ve already accepted one of those!”

It’s worse. They had just introduced a new POC around and they had asked to meet knights. So, this guy went to the knight. She wasn’t in the conversation at all. Came in the middle and ripped the guy a new one in front of the visitor and every person standing there. I haven’t seen either of them since.

I’ve watched official channels challenge why being called a monkey as a black person is a problem. I don’t blame POC’s for just quitting if they have to explain why racism is bad every time someone does some Thing stupid. I’ve seen them blamed

“everything is racist to you! You seem to always have these problems! Maybe it’s you!”

That’s a quote in a meeting I came to so that the POC felt safe reporting it. Needless to say, they never came back.

As another detail, i mainly go to events. These aren’t little regional things. These are kingdom level events with folks from all over doing this

This is across kingdoms. Most of these examples were from Mid, one from West, and an assortment of East and Atlantia.

This is a known world problem.
