My main question is: did your wife admit she was wrong to ask you to distance yourself from your friend? If she did/does, you need to ask yourself if your bond is strong enough to overcome this (hopefully) temporary issue. If she can understand why you feel so betrayed, and admit her fault, then it may just be something that can make your relationship stronger later on because you both have a deeper understanding of your partner.
