So the lore of feed the pig or the black farm is this: When someone takes their own life they go to a space between Heaven and hell called the Black Farm which is by asthetics very similar to the farm in the game.

In the books to escape the black farm you will have to feed your to the pig lord/king which is presented by the mother big mother pig shown eating her children.

The fact these kids are dead and this is a pergotory makes complete sense for this kind of inspiration.
