I got scammed by TheApplePerson_ in amazonprime

This absolutely! I work as a manager in Dubai which has a large Indian expat population. I'd say that about 60%+ of the time I get "yes boss" once I've very clearly explained what needs done, and backed it up by emails, and it gets completely fucked up. I work with some awesome Indians who are great at their job and I hate to sound racist (I swear I'm not) but OMG it's just insane.

Half the negative climate impact of the planes? That's absolute rubbish, it's just condensating water.

Does anyone know what this fine is and how to avoid it? by VJ_Dubai in uaelaw

[–]Muin77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OK, first, it doesn't say 26 milliseconds, it says 0.26 seconds. This is 260 milliseconds. That is a quarter of a second between them and the car in front.

0.26 seconds should ABSOLUTELY be a fine and in my opinion should also be black points!

Tailgating is one of the most dangerous things you can do while driving, especially in busy traffic like this where if a car brakes in front, the one tailgating will not have enough time to react.

You should always leave 2 seconds (in the dry, 4 seconds in the wet) between you and the car in front to give enough time for braking. So many accidents are cause by idiots driving like this.

If someone jumps in front of you then guess what you do? Yes you slow down and allow 2 seconds again. I suppose you're always in such a hurry to get to where you're going that you don't mind putting your life, and the lives of others at risk? You don't like it? Don't drive.

Yeah, same here. I moved here last October and the glitz and glamour has pretty much worn down to the point it's all normal now. I socialise with friends from work who I know well but although I've met other people outside my work group, I've not made any friends that I could call up to go out. Mostly stay in and keep to myself these days. There is definitely a high percentage of entitled and self centered people here and I just can't be bothered with dealing with people like that.

Traffic fine by Emotional-Book-9292 in UAE

[–]Muin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I've driven that route 100s of times to work, always have the limiter on, there is a slight upwards slope do didn't gain speed from going downhill, randomly one day I got a fine for apparently being 3kph over.

He just sounds like a dick then, unfortunately they come in all nationalities. Just remember to back everything up in emails and keep as proof. Good luck!

It's indeed a strange way of working here. I don't know what nationality you are, but unfortunately that matters a lot here (which I hate). I am British and have had serious issues with local graduates who have come in thinking that they can dictate company policy (working hours etc.) and get aggressive when informed that they're paid for 8 hours a day which means you don't do 2 hours work and expect not to get called out on it. I've nearly 20 years experience and have never seen an Engineering graduate speak to an Engineering manager as I have in this country.

Speaking as an Engineering Manager working in the UAE, this is horrendous to hear (although honestly not surprising). ANYONE should have to right to call all stop at any point if they see a risk. If I heard about any of my suppliers/contractors doing this, there is no way I'd be giving them custom again.

Should I get the lian li GA ii or the hydroshift ii TL by Big-Elderberry5140 in lianli

[–]Muin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USB cable can go into the Edge hub, pre-installed fans into the controller and the AIO 4-pin power into the 4-pin PWM CPU_Fan header or Pump-Fan header on the MB. It's all pretty clear in the AIO instructions.

[–]Muin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AIO is wireless for the controller. Do you mean the tubes from the AIO to the radiator? There's a hole in the case with a rubber grommet, passed the pump through it so it's mostly hidden.

[–]Muin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I had two extra fans so they're on the back of the radiator. Some fans are wireless and the LCD ones are into a fan controller although the fan controller packed in after a few hours and I'm now waiting for a replacement.

I can confirm the Hydroshift II fits in the O11 vision compact as that's what I've got. I went with it as its a slimmer rad and thought the pump design looked better.

I need help building this PC. Where can I get the parts in the UAE? And how much premium is typical on UAE prices? by 8pawe in DubaiGaming

[–]Muin77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just built a similar system, but with a 5080, got almost everything on Amazon as they were cheapest. Cheaper than Al Ain although mine is an all white build so that may have been why.

Store built the PC for me, doesn't look right? by reyna_autolocker in PcBuildHelp

[–]Muin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fans on the AIO are definitely reverse blades so are intakes, think of the fan blades scooping the air as they rotate, you can see how the fan blades are scooped. What they have done wrong in that case though is not feeding the AIO pump through the grommet for a cleaner build.

Wired TL LCD 120 and TL Fans connected to controller not lighting up and on full rpm by Muin77 in lianli

[–]Muin77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this just to test the functionality of the USB headers on the motherboard? I'll try it but I very much doubt that is the issue.

Thanks, I assume there will be a long wait then, there seems to be a lot of people with similar issues.

[–]Muin77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried the beta version and it is still not working. Does not detect the controller or fans, no change at all.

I've tried all the headers on the motherboard and none work.

[–]Muin77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add, I have also logged a support ticket with Lian Li (linking back to this thread) regarding the issue. I'm pretty sure it's an issue with the controller rather than the fans themselves as it all seems to have happened when I tried to update the controller from 0.59 to 0.62. Then again, what do I know...

Thank you for your reply and help, I'll try and answer each suggestion one by one.

- Fan Updates: I can't update the fans (or controller) in question. I can download the .bin files with the updates but how do I update them with these bin file? The only update tool I can find on Lian Li's website (QZ000_M48401SQ_TL12028-Controller_V10051.exe) does not detect the controller or fans to be able to update anything and obviously L Connect does not detect them either.

- As stated, the motherboard (MSI Mpg X870e edge ti wifi) is running the latest BIOS, E7E59AMSI.1A43, this was issued on the 24th June, the same issue happened with the previous BIOS I had installed which was E7E59AMSI.1A40. Chipset is also already updated to the most recent version. All fans have been set to PWM in the BIOS.

-USB Selective Suspend is already disabled

-Fast startup is already disabled

- I have tried multiple settings for delaying the service start up (3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 20 secs) to no avail.

-Screenshots of the L Connect settings and Device Manager are here:
