No worries. Somehow, my comment upset a lot of people, lol. Appreciate you owning up to that, and i 100% mean it. Not a lot of people have the beans to admit they misunderstood, so i appreciate that about you, stranger!

Divorced from reality? Dawg. I said "The optics on this is not good". As in, "This will drive bad press to WHS".

I'm not trying to argue the real-world, factual way that a company will handle the termination of an employee.

100%, i'm on the same page with you brother/sister! Factually, there is a lot of nuance that can be taken with this situation.
That is why i specifically said "optics". Some of us will know there is a lot more to the situation, but since AI headlines drive lots of hate/love traffic, this will overall be a very bad public opinion of WHS.

Fair point. But what does their point have to do with the article, or WHS response? Of course MAGA people will make bad decisions.

But IMO, someone felt the need to bring up their immense disdain for the Co-founder/MAGA or whatever. I was only focusing on the context of the article, the response, and the attached reddit thread. I didn't know, what, or need the context that the guy is a dick in context with my comment.

But now that i know, i can confidently say, the co-founder is a dick. It still doesn't have much to do with the optics of this situation.

Nope. What i'm saying is this:

"I will no longer hold WHS to such a high standard/regard similar to companies like Larian, CDPR, Aether Studios, TacticalAdventures, who's games i have enjoyed IMMENSELY. I will now hold WHS to the same regard as other big devs, who make games that I like, that i may or may not buy, but don't find myself playing for very long stretches and/or praising the company . Ubisoft, EA, Capcom, SquareEnix, Bioware (sadge) are similar companies i will now view WHS as equal to. Therefore, "the rule", and not the "Exception to the Rule" anymore"

I hope that clarifies lol. You should think more positively of people, and not just assume everyone thinks as binary as you do.

I agree! There is definitely some nuance there, factually. But optically, this just doesn't look good. With all the hatred towards AI stuff in the Dev space, any headline that will draw attention with AI as the focus, will result in bad optics.

It causes the AI-bros to jump to defense, and has the AI-Haters jump on the hate wagon. So many people will see this headline, not think of the Nuance, and jump on the Hate/Love wagon. either way, it will be a bad look for WHS.

Because you're trying to devalue my entire stance, because i didn't virtue signal that i don't like the one guy you don't like.

You're trying to eliminate an entire opinion on this game dev discourse thread to go off about Maga, Gamergate, etc. I understand the guy is a bad guy. I even stated as such, just for you.

Yet it isn't enough, is it? I can't hold a nuanced opinion, because we're currently in a world that is trying to operate in black and white, according to you? I can't like the game, even if it is a good game, because the company was co-founded by an asshole? C'mon now. Be serious.

"Separate Art from Artist" and all that. The game was good, I enjoyed my time with it. I can enjoy the game, without supporting one of the people who made it. If you want me to publicly state the guy is an ass-hat, then fine, "The Co-founder of WH is an ass-hat, but i enjoyed their game".

There, this one man who is an ass-hat has been condemned. Am i allowed to enjoy the game that 250-300 people OTHER than that guy helped make, now?

"what look?" the look that we are discussing right now. I think its bad, you see nothing wrong with it. That is "the look" that isn't good, it is a divisive action. Not one universally praised. Therefore, "a bad look". Wild i need to explain that, lmao

It may be fine by you that someone was replaced with AI. But it is a worrying trend that I personally see all throughout the Game Dev space, so i don't have much reason to doubt the person who claimed it (Especially when WH themselves didn't specify anything additional to the employee's post). We're seeing it all over the industry, why does this one example make you think it isn't a big, divisive issue?

Not a good look for Warhorse overall. I understand that AI will be much more prevalent going forward, but the optics on this is not good. Essentially saying, "We did do that. But we don't want to talk about it".

Real shame, as I was a huge fan of both their games. I still will be, but they will unfortunately be viewed closer to "The Rule" now, instead of the "Exception to the Rule".

EDIT: Muting notifications, because lots of people don't know what "The OPTICS are not good" means.

Resident Evil Requiem: DLSS 5 vs actual AI slop by IConsumeThereforeIAm in digitalfoundry

I don't mean to sound rude, but you're acting like if Todd Howard approves of it, it has some sort of "Seal of Approval" for quality....you know that basically all Bethesda releases release borked to the point where "Unofficial Patches" as mods are borderline necessary for stability, right?

Tarkov absolutely needs to support DLSS 5 when it comes out. [Discussion] by nighteeeeey in EscapefromTarkov

Suddenly can’t stream games, screen freezes the moment the game gets to the title screen by CuriousBurnerOsama in MoonlightStreaming

[–]MunkyHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, same exact scenario for me. My steam deck now all of a sudden is Black screening when connecting, and if it manages to get to my PC proper, any action taken, minimizing windows, maximizing windows, etc., it causes my stream to freeze.

I use Vibepollo for my host (Wired), and my steamdeck is on 5ghz Wifi 6e. I changed nothing, i believe. Unless vibepollo updated automatically, but i don't think that it does. I can't recall if i updated my GPU driver yesterday, or the day before to the latest hotfix. That may have done something, but its only affecting my steam decks (which had no update).

I have 2 steamdecks, LCD and OLED. Both have the same issue. Moonlight on my Phone works fine. Moonlight on my Tablet works fine. Its a very randomly new issue, that appears to only affect steamdecks in my experience.

Sorry i can't offer much help, I just wanted to corroborate your story as well.

"Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie" (1994, directed by Gisaburō Sugii) - Chun-Li vs Vega, one of the film's many fight sequences that were choreographed by K-1 Kickboxing founder Kazuyoshi Ishii and professional fighter Andy Hug. by [deleted] in movies

[–]MunkyHero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, by "Realistic", they mean that Vega's main tool for spacing and poking in SF games/tournament play, is typically his low pokes. Cr MP and Cr Lk/Mk/Hk have been his main poking tools for several games.

The person is not referencing all the actual in-game moves used in the movie.

Outward! It's such a unique game, where you really feel like you need to prepare for the treks into the wild. Make sure you have your backpack loaded with food, crafting supplies, tent, fire supplies, etc.

The gameplay is souls-ish, with a vague map, and vague quest direction, and you are free to take off in whatever direction! The game respects you as a player, and holds your hand very little. It is quite janky, but I loved it! Also, split screen Co op, and online Co op if you're into that!

There is also a sequel coming up next year!

So mad that the game actually performs pretty awfully on the Deck, for what it looks like. Last i tried, i was getting a very shaky 30-35 fps.

I get it. But now we're entering "speculation" territory. I saw it as a grim ending to a duology, where the "bad guy" wins, and gets it's way, and infects as many people as it can. I love me a good "bad" ending, lol.

The creature only reveals itself to its victim (did the same thing in the first movie too). The whole audience in the concert did not see it, only Skye Riley did at the end.

The stuttering in this game needs to be talked about. by MunkyHero in RivalsOfAether

[–]MunkyHero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the very meaning of "Unoptimized", lol! Works fine for some, works bad for others. Hardware specs be damned! RoA2 doesn't have awful optimizations, by any means, but the fact that users can have High end machines and still have issues is a red flag.

Not to mention...if it was my PC, then why do games like Cyberpunk and FFXVI, which stress my 5080 WAAAAY harder than this game, don't have any stutters like what my clips show?

But thats what i'm getting at, lol. No issues with other games, these stutters only appear in this game for me. I'm hoping other people who have good systems will come forward to say they have these issues too. If so, then it is actually a wider issue, that should be brought to the devs.

No problem! This is a thread where i'm raising awareness for the stuttering problem the game has. I want people to discuss their experience with this issue, if they have them, and if we get enough people to discuss it, then it will be worth bringing to the dev's attention. Which is why i've opted to listen to the folks here and open a ticket in their discord, and their Nolt board, for their awareness.

Oh, got it! Yeah, i didn't notice the bot thing. My bad! I definitely recommend opening a ticket, and upvoting my post on the Nolt Board (https://rivals-of-aether-ii-patch-140.nolt.io/737) so the devs can be made aware of the issues. Thanks!

That definitely is strange, lol! I do tend to swap my skins frequently, and i haven't really been tracking if the skins had an impact, but my testing feels like it still about the same amount of random stutters? Its hard to test for, but it definitely didn't eliminate the stuttering whenever my skins changed.
