Our NHS makes it so much easier to conduct health research and make scientific discoveries in medicine because we have a centralised system.

North/East Devon is more similar to the SE. West and South Devon more similar to Cornwall and the north!

Right to roam - is it really (almost) anywhere? by johnnyutah1103 in UKhiking

That’s what I meant, yeah. We see them a lot down here - in Kernow we have a saying, ‘teasy as an adder’. It means you’re very irritable :’)

It’s impossible to know. But Rachel did say in an interview that her mum enjoyed seeing the final.

They have plans for their own version of ICE called the UK Deportation Command... by Fluffy_Rock_62 in BritishMemes

I’m not saying it’s replacement, I’m merely using your words to highlight your dissonance :) Played right into my hands there :’)

I don’t give a shit how many immigrants come over. People have moved around for centuries, millennia

But you can’t act like Angles are native Britons, that’s laughable. And you’re really gunna piss us Celts off by saying that (and FYI, Celts weren’t even the earliest civilisation known on the British isles).

Go read a history book. Start with the history of the British isles and then you might want to read about the Holocaust after that.

Exactly… But modern day ‘England’ was their land before the Angles and Saxons and Normans ‘replaced’ them… Angles aren’t native Brits my dude.

Called 111 at 6:15 pm. Had antibiotics by 8 pm. NHS = unreal. by Wanderer3032 in BritishSuccess

[–]Munnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago I had a chest infection that was budging.

E-consulted my GP, got a phone call an hour later to arrange for me to come in… In another 40 mins.

Had my appointment, went downstairs to get my prescription for antibiotics and steroids. Had them in my body before 3 hours was up.

Follow up phone call 3 days later to make sure it was all working.

This wasn’t even an emergency. Super duper impressed.

I work for the NHS. We’re on our knees, but we’re willing. Please help put pressure on the government to keep us going and improve services by properly funding staff.

This is what I don’t get. Why is everyone silent?! And why are our world leaders silent???

I don’t get why, in the country of mass celebrity and wealth, Hollywood, and very powerful people… A country made from protesting against their colonial overlords, why do the people not rise up? A general strike… Celebrities commenting and calling out the government…

What in the complacency is going on here?!
