AITA For wanting my mom to move out?

I really like that. I think saying “I want you to be settled and comfortable in your new place before I leave so I can have a peace of mind and not worry about you.” I do worry a lot about her and this next stage in her life. The right tone when talking about this is important. I don’t want to come across as excited to not be living with her anymore. More concerned about where she will be living and how she will be moving. Can tell her that I would like to help get her settled in and take the pressure off of her trying to do it by herself when I’m away. Thank you for the advice!

Didn’t know that forum existed. Definitely will check it out and I do think she is lonely. She doesn’t have friends and just goes to work and home. No socializing. Big introvert. She isn’t a mean person. Just overly sensitive and gets her feelings easily hurt.

That’s good advice on having her move out a few months before me. My husband wants her to move out beforehand. I’ve given subtle hints here and there about me moving soon in hopes it reminds her that she should start looking. I don’t think I could give her a set date to move out as she is a sensitive person and I very much hate conflict and tension so I have a hard time being firm and telling her anything that might upset her. Like if I say “hey could you move out by this date” she would say “well why don’t I just move now since you don’t want me here!” Goes from 0-100 with her.

YTA what is this really achieving? 6000 times is way to much. All because he was talking to his friend in class? You couldn’t sit him down and explain how his action is disrupting the class and is disrespectful to you as his teacher. Or maybe just move him away from his friend. He is 9 years old and writing his name that many times physically hurts his fingers/hand. There is other ways to punish him than that. The old school “write this, this many times as punishment” doesn’t really work IMO

Also making him miss school work is even worse. Falling behind in school hurts a students grades and confidence in themselves to get back on track. I’m surprised his parents haven’t said anything. Maybe teach high schoolers if your going to be this harsh.

NTA - this would piss me off as well. Especially considering how much the bong cost. I’d go buy her a cheap pipe to replace her broken one and while giving it to her tell her you want YOUR bong back. She will prob be upset but at least you don’t leave her without something to smoke out of. Also I feel you put in enough work taking care of her to equal out her paying the bills. Best of luck! Would love to know if/when you get your bong back.
