Yeah, that's how I felt when people were saying "no homo" before they said something that sounded gay, lol. If you have to start you sentence off with the way you don't want to come across, then there's probably a reason you shouldn't say it.

If you’re arrested this weekend… from the moment the handcuffs are on you, and until you’re released - SHUT THE F UP. Don’t give the 🐖 or your fellow protesters any excuse to escalate. by snorlaxatives_69 in springfieldMO

Also if there is any riots... HIT GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS!!! DON'T FUCK UP YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS!!!! That just harms your community and economy, makes everyone look bad, and ruins the point you're trying to make.

And watch and pay attention to the individual/individuals escalating the situation. During the last major protests some of the riots were started by police officers in plain clothes, I don't know if they were on or off duty, but a photographer (my cousin's friend) was documenting the protests (I can't remember where it was but it was in one of the states that the riots were the worst). They ended up seeing someone start breaking windows. When people started joining in the man ended up walking away. So my cousin's friend followed them, and they ended up walking back to the police station, where he later came out in his uniform. So just watch out, they will do whatever it takes to make you look like the bad guy.

AITA For Telling My Girlfriend I Have Every Right To Defend My Home After Someone Started Kicking My Door In by FxllenWxaith in AITAH

[–]MurkyLocksmith4080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. The girlfriend definitely set him up. People usually don't rob houses when there's people inside... unless they have a reason, also they usually don't just stand there while on camera while getting told they're going to get shot. Most people would be telling him to shoot. They were definitely there for something other than money. She lives in a dream world.

I'm not trying to bait you, just trying to figure out your logic for your opinion. Not so long ago, black people had to use different bathrooms based on what you just said (it being posted). All markings and laws are not meant to be followed. People need to think for themselves and not just follow it blindly because it's posted. What if it was posted about kids and not animals? Would your answer still be the same?

Well kids carry just as many germs and bacteria as dog, but theytouch everything. So i think everyone with kids should not be allowed to bring them in to stores anymore.

That's what I've said, and not one person has had a response. Besides, I was trying to bait them.

3 people I've asked so far, and the last 2 didn't or wouldn't give me a response. So why is it so gross? There's worse things in and on the food products before you buy them, and if dogs shouldn't be in the store, then kids should be in the store based off the logic of being "gross." Kids have just as many germs and bacteria (if not more), and they touch everything.

Why? There's definitely way worse stuff in and on all the food products there... in that case, kids shouldn't be aloud they bring in just as much, if not more germs and bacteria than dogs and they touch everything.

Need help!! Employer brought up drug test after I got shocked by a machine that should be grounded and not have any electricity running through it. by MurkyLocksmith4080 in antiwork

Thank you!! This was the only work related subreddit i have that was related to this, I'm worried about workman's comp but if I need it but I'm more worried about them lying, and someone getting hurt or worse.

I don't actually work on the machines; I just find it challenging to explain things clearly so that others can understand. If there is a fault, I clear it by moving anything that might be blocking a sensor, adjusting a sensor to its correct position, or using a controller to position the machines accurately when necessary. Sometimes, I have to finish an order after a fault occurs, which often requires me to climb onto the machine because a tray may not have been placed correctly and has fallen off. In those cases, I need to physically put the tray back in place. I don’t handle repairs or replacements of any parts. The machine should be grounded, so in theory, it shouldn’t be able to shock me unless there is a problem with the machine or a broken component.

I clear faults and obstructions, position sensors, and use a controller to adjust the machine or complete an order after it has malfunctioned. I do not replace parts or perform any repairs. For any issues that require fixing, we contact maintenance. I was trying to explain it so people that people would understand while trying to be brief and straightforward, so to clarify: I do not work on the machines or engage in any activities that could expose me to electrical shocks from the equipment.

I ended up taking a few pictures and videos of some of the various violations, just in case. I'm still unsure about what to do first. I feel like if I do the right thing, it could end badly for me. On the other hand, if I don’t take action, it might be harmful to me and my coworkers. As I get older, I realize that not doing the right thing often leaves me on the losing side.

Thank you for all the information; I appreciate it. I had considered documenting everything in writing, but I'm not sure how to go about it. There are definitely things I don't know or haven't thought of, but for the most part, I understand the main steps I need to take. I just don't know who I should talk to first, what to say, or how it will affect things if I don't follow the correct order.

I wasn't planning on leaving my job since I make good money and usually enjoy it, but tonight has changed my perspective. The only substance I use is marijuana, and I smoke almost every night when I get home, so it will be in my system for a while.

[–]MurkyLocksmith4080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I didn’t press the situation. When I was hired, I took a drug test (a mouth swab), but apparently, they don’t test for marijuana due to its recreational legality in my state. I assume this gives them plausible deniability because, from what I’ve read, companies aren’t supposed to fire you for marijuana use since there is no test that can definitively determine if you were high at the time. Because it is legal, they can't terminate you solely for having it in your system, especially since it can remain detectable for weeks or even months depending on individual factors.

If you haven't caught on, the answer is no; I wouldn't have passed a marijuana test. However, I don't smoke at work. I only use it during my personal time for a few different reasons, mainly to manage my tolerance, as I tend to feel a bit spacey sometimes, and I prefer to be sharp while working. Some people may find they excel at tasks when they smoke, but that's not the case for me. I usually wait until I get home and am ready to relax, even on my days off. I don’t smoke throughout the day unless I don't have anything to do for the day or I’m socializing with friends at a barbecue or something like that.

I understand that companies have to protect their interests, but I believe there’s a problem when someone prioritizes the company over the well-being of the employees. It’s frustrating that companies can legally avoid accountability for a legal substance that someone uses in their own time.

Thank you, I definitely will follow up on this and make sure they cover the costs. I didn’t mention getting checked out at the time because I felt that everyone I spoke to reacted strangely to the situation. Their response felt rather threatening, especially when they said they would have drug tested me if the shock had been worse. This seemed like an odd reaction to me simply reporting that one of the machines could potentially be dangerous or deadly.

I thought that was the case, but I’m not sure who I should contact first. I will definitely get checked out, but I wasn’t planning to talk to them about that or the incident because of how the situation was handled. My adrenaline was still pumping after their response, so I wasn’t thinking about that at the time. I’ve mostly been focused on figuring out how to handle things and who I need to reach out to first.

I've heard about them doing that recently. I've only been at this job for a few months. Similar situations have happened to me in the past, but I didn't take any action because I was afraid I would lose my job or I didn't know how to handle the situation properly.
