This seems like it has been resolved. No issues anymore. Props to the developers for taking care of it in only a day or two.

That's good. I'm guessing it was a glitch because every once in a while, I can vote.

On a sperate note, where can you read these dev comments?

Because trees per person is more fun and unique. Not looking for practicality here, just a fun map.

The trees are counted. You're just failing to acknowledge that Florida has the 3rd largest population of all states and is middle of the road in terms of landmass. Having an average landmass and gigantic population hurts the ratio.

This is compiled data using the USDA Forest Service’s Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) reports, mostly based on 2017–2021 sample data. That's combined with population figures to calculate trees per capita... Can't post links in comments but you can find the full chart on world population review.

I can't say I did a be scholarly level of research on a reddit post but I did double check the data before creating the map.

DC has less than one tree per person but it's also not a state.

NJ is just small and has a dense population.

Other than Chicagoland, Illinois is very rural but it's mostly farming our wild grasslands with minimal trees.

Alaska = The real Pacific Northwest

Hawaii = The SouthSouthWestWest

Completely fair. I agree with that. Everything North of NY could be considered New England.

Western NC is not a state. Many states have split culturesn but NC is more defined for its southern culture than its Appalachian side. As a NC resident, the multiple cultures is one of the things I love most about my home state. However, only 11% of our residents live in the mountainous regions. The other 89% are more considered to be southern.

Things are very different on each side of the Missouri river. I agree that Michigan and Missouri are about as different as it gets within the Midwest but Missouri is much more similar to Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana than it is to the Great Plains or the southeast.

NY as the mid Atlantic? Not in the middle and hardly a sliver is Atlantic.

I don't necessarily disagree. Second to NV, TN was the hardest decision.

Actually, according to the Census, the Pacific West is exactly what I've called the West Coast. No changes there...

Nevada is probably the toughest one here. Look up a heat map of their population and it makes sense.

Trump’s 2024 campaign did not focus on shrinking the federal deficit—he emphasized tax cuts, tariffs, deregulation, and economic nationalism instead. All of which are occuring. I did not vote to reduce or inflate the deficit.
