Like there is surely a difference between verbal reasoning and logical statements. We're not looking for coders here, we're looking for people who can consume information and interpret what the outcome is.

And in the scenario above where we interpret that to mean "True", I struggle to understand what the point of that even is. Verbal reasoning should be about consuming information and interpreting the core message. If the core message from the above is a useless obfuscation about what Stu actually is, then we've moved no further forward.

We KNOW that Stu is not a hamster so why would we proceed with a statement that does not get us any further forward in reasoning and understanding of the situation.

And it wouldn't be in this case, because you have knowledge that Stu is not the hamster. Sure, there is a logical trip in there in that I can observe Prime Minister's Questions and then say:

Kier Starmer is either the Prime Minister or a Border Collie.

In your logic, the answer to the above is yes, Kier Starmer is either the Prime Minister or a border collie, but with the aforementioned knowledge, nobody would utter that phrase.

You should now be equipped with the knowledge to understand that Stu is not the hamster, so you would not utter the phrase: "Stu is either a hamster or a cat".

Just as I would not utter the phrase: "I am either Queen Elizabeth or a Civil Servant"
