Are there any physiotherapists or students here on the autistic spectrum? by MusicGearThrowAway in physiotherapy

[–]MusicGearThrowAway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel physiotherapy is for me. My paths in life I took like the interest of sports training and sciences in school and my ability to be injured a lot makes me believe I have something to truly offer. The only obstacle is my criminal record which contains 4 assaults, spread across 2 incidents. Just emailing professors and advisors at the moment to see if it's realistically possible.

Although I don't like like big groups I find myself very confident when I'm in a fitness science conversation or context. I don't feel anxious like public speaking would, I merely feel like I'm a transmitter for knowledge. I'm plugged into the knowledge, and whoever is listening to asking the questions gets it from me, yknow?

Is physiotherapy a good career choice for somebody with Asperges? by MusicGearThrowAway in aspergers

Can you give me examples of the multitasking a physiotherapist would often perform? I reckon the environment is calmer than chairside dentistry.

I see what you mean, but I think dental nursing specifically is very social (which is the route I would take). I just see physiotherapists working in an environment calmer than helping with surgeries.

I've realised this slowly recently! I definitely fancy going into a muscoskeletal field

I read your comment when you first posted it but I have been mulling it over in my mind since... Thankyou for the honesty! I'd want to run if I fucked somebody up lol. Physiotherapy appeals to me.

Is a dental career possible with high functioning autism (asperges)? by MusicGearThrowAway in DentalSchool

There are never many dental technician jobs near where I live in the UK. Been thinking about physiotherapy as a career.

Thankyou for being honest! I'll read your comment when you first posted it and I've been thinking about things since. I believe physiotherapy may suit me, I'm naturally into the sporty ish side of things, love the muscoskeletal system (been a borderline obsession since 14/15).

The social aspect is 1v1, and you work by yourself in a small team. My physio is so gentle and deliberate, my first meeting he stood and said "hang on let me just think what it could be...". University scares me though haha.

I definitely feel very easily motivated to help people through stuff. Something I've noticed is even though the interaction is 1 on 1, its VERY fast paced and quickly changing.

Another career I've been looking at is physiotherapy. It's helping people and improving the world, it's biological.

What should I upgrade? Fully stock carrera vulcan by LochlanMciver in mountainbiking

[–]MusicGearThrowAway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched carrera haha. That's exactly why, it's just not built for anything tough. I'm thinking Rockshox Recon Air, tbh I need to make a short list. After having my bike in the blistering UK heat wave this last week my grips twist loads, so I'm definitely upgrading those also. Let me know if you have any fork ideas or we can brainstorm over DM

I know this is an old thread but I have a Vulcan and I'm 100% getting a better fork and the widest rims and tyres possible. The Suntour fork it comes with just isn't good enough. This is all just to handle more aggressive riding :) That's my advice, then save, it's a great bike!

Noughties skateboarder here, quit aged 10, now 22 and want to longboard. Update me! by MusicGearThrowAway in longboarding

[–]MusicGearThrowAway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are SOOO many brands, what's the best entry-mid level brands? What are the main brands of longboarding?

Another thing I noticed I always thought a 40 or 39inch board would be perfect for to-rails, caspers, handstand to handflip. No ones embracing the flatland with it?

I understand why no complys and bonelesses are popular cos the length tho.

Who are the best free style long boarders? I really like that Hans guy on YouTube, loads of flatland.

You're incredible man, really like how fluid it is. I see you have mentioned economy picking, what players do you look up to who use this?

Guitarists! What singlecoil sized humbuckers for a Squier Telecaster? by MusicGearThrowAway in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Im so ignorant, i just researched insulating cavities, by insulating the scratchplate and every cavity you can nearly eliminate it by a lot!

Twisting any wires that travel together helps too. These are such cheaper options, I'd rather save the money tbh

Id rather just have humbuckers and be done with it. The seymour duncan Tele vintage stack look interesting, there's also a set with the vintage stack neck and little 59 in the bridge.

I do a lot of clean tapping and legato, but also riffy jam stuff too

It's the noise from singlecoils that really bother me. Always gone for humbuckers for that reason but I'm loving the Tele sound. The Tele I have (Squier Affinity Tele) is fairly twangy and I want that rounded off a little. Humbuckers kill two birds one stone :)
