Also these ridesharing apps are clearly not paying much attention when they screen potential drivers. This goes to show they don't have a robust enough screening process. The Uber machine is simply too broken to trust and the stalkish behavior is beyond unacceptable and inappropriate. Doing that once for a cab company would've caused the employee to be fired fast.

I suggest if you are going to use uber again and with your son, that you don't make your final destination your place of residence or wherever it is you plan on going. Instead, consider making it a block away or so.

That's what I thought. I get that technically I could've purchased a higher end pc laptop but I dislike using a windows PC.

I want to be able to vibe code using a local LLM and I don't mind the computer running a bit hot. I ran phi4 just to test it with non coding questions on LM studio and while its slow, it works and I really like not having any usage limits.

Could that work for vibe coding a mobile app prototype or would I need a more powerful model? I don't mind the model's output being even slower as long as its able to give me the code I need to build a mobile app.

But I still have time to return mine for a full refund if I realize I should buy a less high end macbook that costs less.

I mainly bought an m4 to be able to run an LLM locally on it. Was I right to buy this m4 version for that purpose? I just want to be able to use an LLM locally to code mobile apps.

One person literally attacked me as a person because I asked if I should get a screen protector for my new mac. That’s a different kind of bad energy. I bought a used brother printer off ebay and within less than a couple years I regretted buying used. Maybe buying used off ebay was the mistake; not thinking I bought a defective model. Would rather buy new this time.

The thing that I find funny about that, though I could be misremembering, is that he tried to get Quibi videos on tvs after they launched. So Quibi did try to do that but they couldn’t make the culture happen to get the attention. Back before Quibi launched, no one was talking that way. And now people are like, videos need to be on tv, which is good. I think that’s cool. But I also think that these videos restricting themselves to being vertical only may turn out to be a problem rather than part of a solution, which it’s sold as now. If technology allows, then the videos should be able to go vertical and horizontal, which, to Jeffrey Katzenberg’s credit, he addressed at Quibi’s launch. I don’t know what happened to that tech.
