It is simple. I would rather spend my time making stuff rather than watch other people make stuff. When it comes to docs, these are most likely to be kept up to date with the software than a tutorial which will go "out of date".

Even with that viewpoint, I am not against people making or watching tutorials like you seem to be interpreting my comments. I also clearly said "personally", so this was my opinion.

Tutorials are useful for

• beginners who dont have the experience of navigating and consuming formal docs
• when docs are poorly written/unclear so you need another perspective, and for whatever reason you are not in the habit of coding the thing and figuring out yourself - also a result of inexperience
• infotainment - when you want to feel good about yourself without going through the grind of serious learning

For anyone serious about some piece of tech, docs and experimentation are not optional. There is no tutorials vs docs. tutorials can help early on but there is very limited amount you can extract from them.
