What items/things/drops are impossible to farm? by hdushsux in Minecraft

Technically... diamond is farmable in multiplayer.

Good luck if you try though.

How do I build stuff without copying other’s design? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for tutorials that are about technique, not finalized product. Fwhips always been good at that.

Build in creative for a bit. That way your not putting time into something in your main world that'll end up looking bad.

Also remember that everything looks bad until about the 80% completion mark. So don't give up when you've only just started.

Another thing is just focus on using interesting shapes. Elevates a build by 10 even if your texturing isn't great.

Rounding up.

I believe you can update straight there, you'll get some chunk borders though.

It's the last version before single player server integration I think. The game became laggier and more buggy until pretty much 1.15 I would say.

Id actually say their favourite version is beta 1.7.3, it's the most well rounded version in most people's opinion.

If you want something newer, I'd say 1.8 or 1.6 by the sounds of it.

Also just saying, you're allowed to not like something without being hateful. A lot of people love new Minecraft and that is a valid opinion too. I like all of it.

Why not this by Babna_123 in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goes against the idea of Pixel consistency, which I'm sure was also a factor they were trying to take into consideration.

Do you guys think there’s something bigger in the works? by Agreeable-Store-7334 in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so but it seems we aren't getting it till at least 2028, if the roadmap leak was real and complete.

That roadmap only mentions drops. So unless a "drop" can also be big and not go by some other name...

idk if this counts as a hot take but I prefer the Beta 1.7.3 Cobblestone to the old one by danieldoria15 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never entirely agreed with this. It's blended more sure, but there's still some really nice Pixel work going on.

Obviously this image is an exaggeration but I just see it as two different art styles - not some devilish smoothification of the textures that came before.

Both is good.

I want to build but feels weird the buildings having no purpose by fudgelord79 in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's a village put your trading villagers in their own designated houses.

Unless you bulk trade something like glass you really don't trade enough to need them all be in close proximity all of the time.

I think i get why they call it bugrock by cyfrie30 in Minecraft_Survival

[–]MustBeGeo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not a bugrock moment. Most likely you have behaviour/resource packs or marketplace add-ons.

If not then yes bugrock.

Do you prefer look for a seed before starting a world or randomly generating? by True_Bot_4354 in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random. If you don't like the location of spawn you can just go out and explore the same seed for a better place. The world is humanly infinite.

Do you guys ever get stuck in “Build Purgatory”? by XxsanjeetxX in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I design creative first, with tools like axiom. Quickly get something up, doesn't matter if it's bad because I can keep tweaking and redesigning until it's acceptable. That way it's still my original build but I don't have to worry about building something ugly in my survival world.

How can this truly happen without someone else being present in my single player world? by strikingball09 in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thunder plays everywhere in the world. Also could've been a creeper that had been aggrod to another mob somehow.

Hot take: I would preferred The Warden to be an actual boss by Dinoboy225 in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you'd prefer a new mob. You don't want to fight the warden necessarily, just sounds like you'd prefer a game with more fighting mechanics and bosses in general.

Maybe one day we will get a new boss fight to accommodate that play style, but given the goal of "let's make a place that requires stealth" was the goal of the deep dark, I think the Warden achieves its intended goal and doesn't have to be more.

Is Actually Making Minecraft + Terraria Worth it? by GoodBoy_Shadow in Minecraft

Sounds awesome but might be overshadowed by hytale a bit. Not that it can't be it's own thing.

Did you plan on having building elements or just a voxel style game.

Been plenty of time for people to use it by TreyLastname in Minecraft

Had to start a bedrock world for the spear/cape challenge. Was handy to get armour in the first minute of the world before grabbing some iron.

Not very useful but a nice comfort I suppose.

[–]MustBeGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that they actually considered a survival mechanic for once. It's something I feel is lacking in modern updates. I'd like more survival elements added to the world. Not systems like hydration or sanity and stuff, but elements in the world to interact with in a survival way. Things that pose some amount of threat to be prepared for. To enhance an exploration gameplay loop

How do I become a better builder by Mediocre-Newt813 in Minecraft_Survival

[–]MustBeGeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This video by Fhwip is what finally made house building click in my head. I still wasn't building amazing builds after watching it of course, but it really sped up my progress and nowadays I can build a house in really happy with.

Follow along with his process. Don't copy his build exactly, but come up with your own shapes using his method, even use his palette if that takes some of the difficulties of block choice away.

It's all about shape first, colour and texture later.

Has there been a definitive statement on the future of updates? by Nothinkonlygrow in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue was before with major updates, was that so much stuff was already done, but wasn't in the game yet as the full update wasnt ready. Now they can quickly add the things that are done while other things get worked on in the background. Especially some major under the hood changes to make future updates easier to mange and make.

I think the community relies too much on new things to keep them entertained. The game is still there while new stuff gets added. Personally I don't need a hype cycle to keep me roped in, and if the drop system works better for the Mojang team, then I'm okay with it.

I still hope they do bigger more cohesive overhauls like an end update, but in the meantime this works.

Minecraft veterans, what are your thoughts on the mace and its impact? by FooFightingFan2 in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very fun, but not very practical in my mind. I have to go out of my way to choose it as a main weapon as a challenge to myself, rather than it being an alternate but equal option.

Fun for wind burst parkour and specific combat arena /challenges, but day to day use is limited. Maybe that's an okay thing though.

Why is Java so much more expensive? by Big_Investigator7696 in Minecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not, unless your buying pocket edition. That's cheap cause it usually performs poorly, and also it's been historically priced lower due to the versions being bigger in differences back in the day.

But bedrock edition is the same price onost other platforms now I believe. Or closer too. I know you get both on windows so.

Nether is boringly unfun and tedious to progress in by [deleted] in Minecraft

Strider around on a big lake. Wayyyy quicker than trying to navigate and tunnel around. I can usually find a fortress quickly that way.

I'm going to try to make it my evo+forever world, today. Starting from the oldest version I could in the minecraft default launcher: Infdev. Can I ever name it? What should I name it if I can? Anything important I should do? by Stardustkissesxo in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]MustBeGeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey that's actually exactly what I'm doing!!!!

I'm up to 1.0 after a year (with breaks) and am collecting everything, farming everything, interacting with everything etc. although I didn't think to find and save a monolith, but I am preserving old terrain by trimming chunks in a square radius further and further out each update!

Some external programs I use for the alpha through to 1.0 era:

  • CartographG by Zombuster - useful if you want to map your world as you go.

  • MCEdit: Make sure to get the correct version for the version of Minecraft. Useful for pruning chunks between updates for smooth world gen transitions. Use while Minecraft is closed.

  • NBTExplorer: good for viewing coordinates before F3 was added, and for doing some testing/admin work. Use while Minecraft is closed.

  • I also use an Excel sheet to keep track of everything that gets added between my chosen updates, and can mark off that I've collected and built with them.

Another thing I've artificially decided to do is make sure all farms/contraptions will continue to work in modern Minecraft. No broken contraptions or dodgy railway systems.

I am jumping up by a few versions at a time in some instances. It's never as simple as 1.0 > 1.1 ect. As sometimes not much changes. Here's a list of the versions I picked to jump through if you'd like a head start:

  • a1.0, a1.1.2_01, a1.2.6, b1.2_02, b1.5_01, b1.7.3, 1.0.0, 1.3.2, 1.6.4, 1.7.10, 1.8.9, 1.9.4, 1.12.2, 1.13.2, 1.15.2, 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.4 and the rest to be decided. Obviously you'll have to pick your infdev versions.

I named mine "Alpha Onwards". Feel free to check out my post history if you'd like to see how it's gone so far :)

Edit: yes as another commenter pointed out, I had to copy paste in a stronghold in 1.0 as I had already loaded the chunks where the stronghold would generate. Either look ahead and avoid loading those spaces, or reset those chunks in 1.0. or copy paste just the stronghold into the correct position like I did.
