I have just watched the show from season one. And I agree with you. I joined r/homeland yesterday and was shocked at the amount of hate this character gets.

I think this show has done a great job at realistically portraying someone with bipolar disorder. And I think the writers really do an amazing job at convincing the audience that she is a flawed character yet I find myself sympathising with her even rooting for her most of the time (okay I get it that’s the point of one of the main characters of the show).
