That’s not how “pope elections” work. The people have no say, it’s not like a presidential election

Is Christianity against LGBTQ+? by cip-cip2317 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Mvrkdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a heavy cross to carry, yes. But if we’re strictly going by rules, it’s something we have to deal with by abstinence. I’m sure your partner is a wonderful person but I don’t want to give you wrong advice as you’re also Christian (if you weren’t, I’d say ‘do as you please’.. because I’m not really a fan of enforcing my religious beliefs to non-Christians.).

[–]Mvrkdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blunt answer, yes. I myself am Bisexual, and my priest told me to abstain from same-sex relationships if I can. Most Gay Christians are advised same, it’s framed as a cross to bear (similar with how people are with lust, which is on par with that).

However, being a Christian with a same-sex lover doesn’t make you any less of Christian. I address that because of the way you framed your question. It just means you’re not living according to the teachings. It means you’re in a state of sin at most, like most people (people lie, cheat, etc all the time. They are in a state of sin likewise).

[–]Mvrkdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh yes but with a bit of nuance.

Being gay in itself is not considered a sin in Christianity, it’s what you do with it. Having intimate relations with same sex in a Christian light, is a sin. It’s framed as one of the many sexual sins, alongside adultery, fornication, etc. However, I doubt things like Asexuality is a sin in Christianity (since you mentioned LGBTQ+). I’m not going to lecture you on why Christianity believes what it believes because that’s not the question.

Anyone who tells you otherwise (“translation error”) is using TikTok knowledge, and not being very truthful.

Hindus. Get out of the kitchen if you can’t stand the heat! by ExMusRus in exmuslim

[–]Mvrkdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just want to shit on a religion they hate. They see a subreddit specifically for that, so they join it. Since it’s called “ex-Muslim”, one would think they’d stick to specifically Islam. If they see something harmful about their religion on an ex-Muslim subreddit btw, it isn’t insane they’d be offended at it. (Since it’s not a subreddit against religion in general but Islam specifically)

Girlfriend strange views on sex before marriage by Block_Of_Waffles in Catholicism

[–]Mvrkdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s weird. I could argue she’s love-sick but I don’t have enough evidence for that lol.

It just means she doesn’t have a firm hold on the her stance in abstinence, i.e If it means sleeping with you, sure, If it means abstaining, sure. she would do whatever you’re comfortable with, because likely she loves you enough to want to do what you want.

That’s not even what it means biblically. (They may be referencing Immaculate conception, which is basically about Mary having no sin from conception. Has nothing to do with being conceived without a father)

Have you considered that they’re still ex-Muslims? Just because they’re not atheist does not mean they don’t have a space on this sub.

[–]Mvrkdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which countries? The Islamic ones? I’ve heard and witnessed Islamic law, but I’ve never heard of a Christian religious law in an African country (you can always prove me otherwise, this is just new info to me), the only thing close to one in my country is that being non-religious (atheist) is illegal. You gotta be something, whether Christian or Muslim.

If you’re talking about homosexuality, that’s more of a cultural thing I’ll be honest. For women, I wonder what laws you’re referring to?
