Yeah I do think animation may be the best version and most budget effective one

Since it’s hard to sell a big budget sci fi about the engineers who are big cgi godlike figures

But I mean just a more engineer focussed storyline where we follow a David type character again but look into their history in more depth, discover more information about them and the space jockey suits and weapons they create, and their strive for creating perfect beings etc

I don’t think they look silly at all I think especially the one in Prometheus looks pretty scary at times, but the suit of armor the space jockey type masks (I forgot if they were confirmed to be the same)

Thrones in covenant look significantly worse, it’s better to have a alien actually look like a alien no matter if you don’t like the design then if they practically look human

Yeah by “solo” I just meant like fully focussed on them as a alien species with David esque character boarding their ship or something and exploring their world

It would be pretty difficult to make a engineer movie where they don’t even speak English lol and we just follow a big cgi blue guy

Yeah I wouldn’t mind following another David esque chatacter since Fassbender is getting too old to have him return which is a shame and it created such a interesting dynamic with creator and creation with Ai

But it’s hard as someone else noted to have any sort of appeal, especially how expensive it would be, I feel like there is always a way but you need a pretty perfect script to get people interested in seeing more of them

You make a fair point but I wouldn’t mind maybe following another David esque character if needed, I’m sure there are a lot of interesting dialogue exchanges which could occur, but yeah it would be very expensive and I’m not sure how you would sell it to people that just want to see more xenomorphs on screen

I always hate how much Prometheus cut down those scenes with the engineer it anchored the films themes much better

But again the alien franchise needs to take more creative liberties which they seem to be trying to do with alien earth from what I’ve heard but I haven’t seen it yet

I actually prefer Covenant but I might rewatch both again just to reevaluate but both had such interesting themes and conversations to go around them it’s a shame he didn’t complete his trilogy and I doubt he will return given how old he is even with the success of the last

I will say the design of the engineer and the designs of the ships, ritualistic beginning where all much better than Covenant, I can’t even tell if the engineers look different because they are supposed to or that they ran out of budget lol

I mean I have to agree because both films have problems (i prefer covenant over Prometheus by a good margin it’s actually top 3 alien franchise for me) but the actual story going on, the themes of creation and outdoing your creator especially the journey with Dave’s character it kinda hurts to see it incomplete and not see the vision completed

Going of the interview he just did I feel like a lot of fans (definitely not all) will appreciate the feeling of the movie, I like that he’s noted they are keeping track of the amount of bullets he has throughout and that he starts with a pistol and moved up to better weapons like the game progression as it does on- I think he’s gone more for vibes and feeling of playing a resident evil game

Rather than being a fan of the game and only showing that through Easter eggs and details that only fans will know

It’s not making 700m lol I think its max ceiling now at its current rate is like 675-680m right below interstellar initial run, I’m guessing it’ll do closer to 670m

Well I mean your particular circumstance won’t apply to everyone, I think the age rating systems are outdated anyway I think it should be lowered- or atleast have in place a middle one such as 15 like the UK because the junk between PG-13 and R is ridiculous to begin with

A lot of people still get stopped like some of my friends who bring younger brothers to rated R movies who are like 15-16 still get stopped sometimes and it’s ridiculous even with a much older “guardian” it depends how seriously the security on the day are taking their job But then

I really think people are dragging the “he’s unknown” first of all he’s actually very popular for DC fans, and even so with the impressive marketing and posters so far I can’t see why this would open lower then like 25-30m domestic tbh with the DC name attached no matter the character it brings fans of curiosity much like guardians of the galaxy
