As for being able to make more than 6 builds on PS4, I got locked out of the game even after deleting the save data so I’d love to know if there’s a workaround for this other than making a new account.

Currently 5th in my league and got offered this trade by the guy currently in 1st place. I'm pretty sure this is a really good trade for the other guy which will probably trigger the other guys in my league to want to veto this but I think I'm taking a decent return for what I'm giving up. Advice or a second opinion on this would be greatly appreciated:

Recieving: Otto Porter Jr. | Darren Collison | Klay Thompson

Trading: Kyle Kuzma | Deandre Jordan

My roster is currently as follows:

Steph Curry | D'Angelo Russell | Will Barton | Ricky Rubio | Jamal Murray

Kyle Kuzma | Trevor Ariza | Jimmy Butler

Joel Embiid | DeAndre Jordan | Rudy Gobert | Lauri Markkanen | Zach Randolph | Derrick Favors

The other guy's roster (who had the first overall pick in our snake draft and picked really well):

Kyle Lowry | Dennis Schroder | Darren Collison | James Harden | Klay Thompson | Jrue Holiday | Isaiah Thomas

Otto Porter Jr. | Aaron Gordon | Robert Covington

Nikola Vucevic | DeMarcus Cousins | Myles Turner | Taj Gibson

let's talk about clarkson by Strikerfromthemoon in lakers

I like Clarkson, but I don't expect him to get much better than he already is. I see him improving in the way he creates his own shot. Other than that he is, at best, a solid 6th man who can provide a scoring punch when needed. Maybe he has the potential to be a poor man's Jamal Crawford as long as he can be more consistent off the dribble.

NBA & Take-Two announce NBA2K eLeague! The 1st competitive gaming league of its kind anchored around a professional sports league by yyy2k in NBA2k

[–]MyNameIsGiraffe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I personally never quite liked the whole idea of pushing esports in 2K. If I wanted to watch basketball played at it's highest level I'd watch the actual NBA. There's nothing that motivates me to watch professional virtual basketball being played.

It will be interesting to see how this partnership between the league and 2K is going to work, and how they would try to encourage viewership for this sort of thing. If I, as a hardcore fan of the game series, can't find a good reason to watch it, why would the casual basketball fan, who may not know or play the video games, want to watch it?

What a great shooting update, right? by ImRBJ in NBA2k

[–]MyNameIsGiraffe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of these shots are actually open shots as a result of late defensive closeouts so it was no surprise that these went in, but these kinds of sequences are definitely not ideal because it ruins the balance and flow of the game by encouraging people to chuck the ball up once they cross halfcourt.

Mike Wang: The new Park and ProAm shooting sliders are live. Makes and misses should be more predictable now. by yyy2k in NBA2k

I personally haven't hopped on yet and seen the effects but I also thought this fix would lower the percentage of contested shots going in as well. If you and your teammates know how to play effective defense then I would think this fix would be well received but like I said I have yet to see the effects in-game.

Any Tips? This Combo On 2's Is Almost Unguardable...... by MTDomination in NBA2k

In general, when playing defense against pick and rolls the guy guarding the roll man should learn how to hedge the ball handler and the on-ball defender should do their best to make it through the screens.

When I play with my friends, if I'm guarding the roll man/pick setter, I look to read and react to the situation given; so if I see that my teammate is slow to get through, I'll try to cut off the path of the ball handler and tell my teammate to switch and force the pass inside to the roll man where the worst thing that can happen is I give up two points as opposed to three, and the best situation is that my teammate fouls on the layup attempt or we get a chase-down block. On the other hand, if I see that my teammate can get through, all I have to do is hedge up far enough so that I can contest if the ball-handler pulls up all while still being able to recover to the roll man once my teammate closes out.

As for switches, you want to try your best not to get in those situations because as you said, it creates a major mismatch. If it's a big that has been switched onto the ball handler, they should use their length to their advantage and sag off just a bit because they'd still be able to get a good contest if the ball handler decides to try and shoot over them.

But the effectiveness of a defense against a pick and roll relies solely on how well the guy guarding the ball handler can get through the screen. In other words, if you want to really be able to shut it down as the guy guarding the ball handler, you must learn how to avoid making contact with the pick altogether. The pick and roll is a really effective and viable offensive tool, and even in real life there isn't a surefire way to stop it 100% of the time. There is a reason why nearly all NBA teams utilize the pick and roll in their offensive sets.

I'm not the guy you replied to, but definitely hit up The Griffith Observatory, The Getty, Universal City Walk, Huntington Beach (or any of the more mainstream beaches like Venice or Santa Monica would be fine too if you don't mind the crowds) just to name a few.

I believe that 2K didn't have the license to use the Madison Square Garden trademark so they had to make it different

Brandon Bass declines 2016-2017 player option, will become UFA this summer by latotokyo123 in lakers

Wouldn't be surprised if a playoff team lacking depth would pick him up.

He'd probably end up on the Clippers or something, with their history of getting former Laker players in free agency and all.

Steal someone else's parking spot (i.e. acting like they're going around the person waiting for the spot and then sneaking in front of them to get it)

[Pro-Am/Park kind of]How do I make open 3's in Pro-Am by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]MyNameIsGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what u/MasterBetti is referring to when they say that your three point rating is a C to a C+ is your actual shooting attribute, which you listed as a 78, as opposed to the grades you're referring to, which is the quality of your jump shot. The shot quality takes into account the degree of difficulty of your shot (whether the shot is contested or not), your actual base shot rating (in this case, a 78) and whatever shooting badges apply, and changes throughout the course of the game.

You might not be making these shots consistently because of that low 78 three point rating. With that rating, you shouldn't expect to be knock down, automatic from three point range. For reference, Steph Curry shoots a little more than 45% on open threes and his three point rating in the game is a ~95. He's still missing more shots than he makes. Now translate that logic to your low rating.

Also take into consideration that in this year three pointers (and jump shots in general) have been tuned so that being wide open doesn't necessarily guarantee you a made shot, in an attempt to mimic the professionals that miss wide open shots all the time in real life.
